RIP-19: Treasury Allocation Q2-Q4 2024

Voting ended over 1 year agoSucceeded

SUMMARY: This proposal will seek to create a breakdown to deploy ResearchHub Foundation Community Treasury funds responsibly for high-priority items for the Q2-Q4 2024 timeframe (April 1st 2024- December 31st 2024). In order to prevent congestion by posting numerous proposals, improve the pace of execution and remain flexible with strategies, we propose to deploy funds in a responsible manner that adheres to the percentages outlined below.

MOTIVATION: The budget will primarily focus on supporting the expansion and accessibility of the ResearchHub ecosystem. With the ResearchHub platform, and by extension ResearchCoin having increased in reliability, it is important the ResearchHub ecosystem gets integrated into various venues and attains proper visibility.

PROPOSAL: We propose to have the following high level breakdown of assets in the treasury with a budget of up to 25 million RSC for Q2-Q4 2024 as well as any earned ETH or USDC in 2024.

RSC Breakdown

  • 14% (3.5M RSC) - Contributors and Open Source Development - Compensation for contributors in the fields of operations, governance, moderation, content creation, growth and overall organization. This can include but is not limited to events/actions such as payment to guest speakers, core contributors, legal contributors, open source developers, Youtube and social media content creation, journal clubs, online or in-person conferences.
  • 86% (21.5M RSC) Improving accessibility for ResearchHub and ResearchCoin - This can include any forms of partnerships (strategic or direct integrations) or venues to increase visibility/accessibility of ResearchHub globally. Examples may include, but are not limited to, partnerships with traditional science platforms, sponsorships, strategic partnerships with other organizations, crypto/web3 venues and hosting events.

Non-RSC Breakdown

Ability to claim any fees earned from Uniswap at any time. With the ability to convert ETH (or other non-RSC assets) to USDC, and vice versa in order to accommodate, but not limited to, the needs of salaries, cost of services, cost of fees or agencies/firms.

ACTION: For the Q2-Q4 2024 timeframe, the Foundation will deploy treasury assets in a flexible manner that adheres to the above percentages. All leftover funds from previous and current budget proposals will be earmarked as “reserves” and will remain in the community treasury going forward. These reserves can be used to cover any costs for future projects/expenses contingent on approval from a governance vote.
