SUMMARY
This proposal introduces a newly structured Reputation v2 and Healthy Research Rewards redesign to incentivize researchers to document science in a reproducible manner. The proposal includes changes to 2 concepts: reputational incentives (REP v2) and financial incentives (ResearchCoin Rewards) for healthy research behaviors. The financial incentives are a proposed redistribution of the RSC emissions towards users who behave in research behaviors that promote reproducible science (details below).
MOTIVATION
The revamped reputation and incentive structure aims to:
- Promote Reproducibility: Encourage thorough documentation of research processes.
- Recognize Contributions: Acknowledge both traditional and innovative research activities.
- Enhance Engagement: Foster active participation and engagement within the research community.
PROPOSAL

Reputational Incentives (REP v2):
- Author Profile Pages: Highlight reputation and research achievements.
- Subfields: 248 research areas classified by OpenAlex.
- Iterative REP Approach: Points for actions/outcomes, initialized with citations and upvotes.
- Reputation Tiers: Four tiers based on citation counts within subfields.
- Earning Reputation: Through peer reviews, preregistrations, research bounties, discussions, and publications.
- Upvote Power: Higher tiers distribute more points per upvote.
- Faster Withdrawals: Reduced cooldown for verified users
Financial Incentives (ResearchCoin Rewards):
- Publishing of open-access articles/preprints (1X multiplier)
- Provisioning of open-access data (2X multiplier)
- Preregistration of studies (3X multiplier)
