Final reward distribution

Voting ended almost 2 years agoSucceeded

Proposal

The council proposes the following distribution of the 500,000 REVA reward pool for previous contributors. Reasoning below.

55% to all voters in votes until and including "New Council (Confirm / Reject)" 40% to liquidity providers on both BNB chain and Fantom 5% to previous councillors Romsty, Karma Chameleon and Boink

Choices

CONFIRM accepts the distribution suggested by the council.

REJECT declines the suggested distribution. The discussion will be reopened with at most one more proposal to determine the allocation between reward recipients. If no consensus can be found after that, the council suggests to move the 500,000 REVA in the reward pool to Korra and use them for future incentives instead.

Reasoning

The council reviewed the "Reward pool recipients" proposal's results and debated how and to whom the rewards should be distributed (to). The distribution the council settled on was based on these factors:

  • "Reward pool recipients" results were heavily skewed by large token holders voting 100% in favor of one group only. This also caused another group voting 100% in favor of themselves to not be left out. These 100% votes were taken seriously, but still with a grain of salt.
  • Voters ultimately are the lifeblood of every DAO and their contribution in governance is without equal. Considering they have not been rewarded in any way so far, the council agrees in rewarding voters with the biggest portion of the reward pool.
  • Similarly liquidity providers (LPs) are fundamental to the token stability, allowing any kind of trading to happen without causing extreme price fluctuations in the first place. In Korra LPs will also receive voting rights, which unfortunately was not the case in Revault's tokenomics. Since they have been and still are being rewarded with newly minted tokens, their portion of the pool is lower than for voters.
  • Chat contributors would only receive a small portion of the rewards, so small in fact that the effort in making a subjective assessment of who should get how much is disproportionate to the small reward pool that would actually be allocated. Instead of investing more resources, the council considers it to be the best course of action to reserve this method for Korra when guidelines about this being a subjective process have been clear from the start. A just way of finding the correct distribution is nigh impossible otherwise and the process would take dozens of hours and probably a few very unhappy parties across a month or more.
  • The council has been filled by volunteers, but has quickly established itself as an important part of the governing body of the project. The current council agrees to distribute a small portion between the three previous councillors Romsty, Karma Chameleon and Boink.
