Episode IV Structure

Summary

Adjust the Episode IV drop structure by keeping 100 edition supply and changing the price per edition and mint phases.

Abstract

Following a successful mint of Episode III on Sound - we want to release Episode IV in a similar fashion this week.

This proposal looks to adjust a few parameters to fit within Sound’s upload flow and earn a small amount of ETH for future growth.

On October 25th, 100 free editions of Episode III were minted with the following framework:

• Phase One: Genesis Key Holders
• Phase Two: Set Holders
• Phase Three: Public Mint

In addition - 10 editions were airdropped to the core team and contributors as seen here.

Episode III sold out within a minute and currently trades at a floor price of ~0.3 ETH.

We learned that there is clear demand for RŌHKI songs even before we have the full videos ready upon mint.

We recognize that the 1 mint max per wallet may have been limiting for those who hold multiple Genesis Keys, Sets and wanted to collect from the public sale.

The community voted to release all remaining Episodes in Season 1 as free mints.

We believe the best structure for Episode IV is for Key Holders to obtain a free mint (plus gas fees), with holders allowlisted for a discounted mint while adding a priced public phase to fund the treasury.

Motivation

We learned a lot from Episode III and from the (very appreciated!) 1-on-1 conversations with collectors (see detailed feedback here).

We are continually exploring ways to:

• Provide more time between mint phases
• Provide better communications with more advance notice
• Offer better support throughout the entire mint with a dedicated #support channel

We believe it’s most important to reward existing holders, and to adjust variables to leverage current momentum and funnel a small amount of proceeds into our treasury to maximize success.

Feedback from Episode IV will position us for further adjustments on the remaining two Episodes of Season 1 until an optimal structure is found for Season 2.

Specification

Mint Episode IV with a supply of 100 editions using the following pricing and phases.

Phase One - Key Holders

• Time: Wed, Dec 8th at 1PM PT.
• Price: Free
• Mint Max - 1 per wallet*

Phase Two - Set & Sound Holders

• Time: Thur, Dec 9th at 1PM PT.
• Price: 0.01 ETH
• Mint Max: 1 per wallet.

Phase Three - Public Mint

• Time: Fri, Dec 10th at 1PM PT.
• Price: 0.02 ETH
• Max Mint - 3 per wallet limit.

In addition, we plan to airdrop 10 editions to the core team and contributors similar to Episode III.

For collectors with more than one Genesis Key, we will airdrop an additional edition of Episode IV per extra Key held AFTER claiming the free mint in Phase One. This ensures that only those who actively collect Episode IV are receiving an additional edition for every Genesis Key held.
