Strategic Proposal: Enhancing Roko Network's Mining & Development Capabilities with NVIDIA A100 GPU #2

Objective: The purpose of this proposal is to authorize the procurement of an NVIDIA A100 GPU to significantly enhance Roko Network's mining operations within the Bittensor Network and to bolster our development capabilities for running sophisticated AI models.

NVIDIA A100 GPU for Superior Mining Performance: The acquisition of a single NVIDIA A100 GPU, featuring an 80 GB A100 Tensor Core, is proposed. Known for its exceptional computational power, the A100 is perfectly suited for mining TAO tokens with high efficiency and for supporting the computational needs of advanced AI models. The investment, estimated at $18,485 USD, will equip Roko with another high-performance hardware required for leading-edge mining operations and AI development.

Roko's development team has demonstrated proficiency in mining and AI experimentation. However, the current hardware infrastructure has reached its capacity as the initial A100 will be running a dedicated Bittensor validator for the Roko Network. The addition of the NVIDIA A100 GPU will enable Roko to focus on both mining and validation while experimenting with LLMs.

The budget for the NVIDIA A100 GPU is as follows:

Cost of the GPU: $18,485 USD and Contingency Funds of $1,515 USD (additional hardware, taxes and shipping). The total budget request is $20,000 USD, ensuring that the purchase can be made without delay, taking advantage of current market conditions. Treasury owned $ROKO will be swapped for $USDC to fulfill the budget.

The operator will be responsible for all associated electricity and maintenance costs, thereby removing these fixed operating expenses from Roko Network's financial responsibilities. This arrangement ensures the most effective management of the GPU at no extra ongoing cost to Roko DAO Treasury.
