CrossFi aims to democratize decentralized finance by allowing anyone to create a derivative ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain that is a derivative of their assets on any other infrastructure when those assets are staked or collateralized through the CrossFi platform.

FileCoin requires expensive specialized mining machines. FileCoin stakers are rewarded by the amount of storage they provide, but they are limited to how much storage they can provide by how many FileCoin they stake. Therefore, in order to continue providing storage, miners need to stake more FileCoin. These staked FileCoins are locked up for 540 days and stakers could not realize the benefit of their asset until rewards were issued.
