SGP 7: Accept Ownership Transfer of Hemi Contracts to Spectra DAO

Hemi is a modular Layer-2 blockchain network co-founded by early Bitcoin developer Jeff Garzik and blockchain security expert Max Sanchez. Designed for superior scaling, security, and interoperability, Hemi integrates Bitcoin and Ethereum into a unified supernetwork.

Ahead of its mainnet launch on March 12, 2025 [1], Hemi has already secured over $265 million in committed TVL [2], which will be deployed across Hemi’s DEXes and protocols to provide day-one liquidity for trading, borrowing, staking, and yield farming across the ecosystem.

Over 50 projects [3] have pledged to join the ecosystem, including Symbiotic, Yieldnest, and Morpho’s confirmed deployment [4], reinforcing its position as a rising DeFi hub.

Motivation

Deploying Spectra on Hemi provides a first-mover advantage in a rapidly growing BTCFi ecosystem. As Hemi gears up for launch, Spectra’s integration will unlock new yield markets and trading opportunities, enhancing the ecosystem with a permissionless yield protocol tailored for liquidity providers and DeFi users.

Beyond expanding the ecosystem, this deployment opens up a new revenue stream for Spectra. Getting in early means securing market share, with new users and capital driving more pool activity, higher transaction fees, and increased protocol earnings.

Specification

Perspective SAS proposes deploying Spectra’s core contracts on the Hemi network, replicating the configuration used on Ethereum Mainnet. This deployment will enable Spectra users to tokenize, trade, and fix interest rates for yield-bearing tokens within Hemi’s ecosystem.

Following the deployment, Perspective SAS proposes transferring ownership of the Spectra contracts on Hemi to Spectra DAO, which will have full authority to:

• Manage all protocol roles (e.g., owner, pause).
• Upgrade the contracts as needed.
• Set and collect protocol fees.
• Enable new protocol features and adjust configurations as required.

Next Steps

Perspective SAS will submit the vote on Snapshot shortly given the Hemi imminent launch if there are no constructive objections.

If Spectra DAO members approve the proposal, Perspective SAS will proceed with deployment on Hemi and transfer contract ownership to the Spectra DAO wallet on Hemi: 0x6f1C9528d22189CDbC6838ef51E3f5aB6Aa3A093
