Avalanche Deployment Plan

SenpaiSwap is in the process of migrating from the Boba Network to Avalanche. Although the initial plan was to deploy the Senpai protocol as is, the migration presents an interesting opportunity to make some timely changes to the protocol that have the potential to go a long way in insuring its success.

Background

The market has entered a bit of a macro bear environment over the last week, because of this, many members of the SenpaiSwap community recommended holding off on launch. While the Senpai team wants to deploy the protocol as soon as possible, we recognize this concern.

However, we do not think that holding off deploying just because the market has turned a bit bearish is a viable idea. We DO however think the migration process has opened up a window to make some changes to the protocol before deploying that could really go a long way in insuring Senpai's success.

Seeing as Senpai's coupon mechanic is inspired by Olympus, it is fair to use other protocols with a similar mechanic as a benchmark of the current market. When one looks at the market today, it is clear that these protocols are having a tougher time getting users to buy their version of a coupon. This is a large problem for these protocols as the coupon mechanic is essentially the cornerstone of the protocol. If a OHM style protocol launches today and cannot get users to buy coupons, it is essentially dead in the water as soon as it launches.

The teams fear is that, even with Senpai's unique DOL coupons, users would still be hesitant to buy any coupons because of the current market conditions. As mentioned above one just needs to survey the other protocols with this mechanic to see why, most off of them are trading below their backing currently or have done so in the last week.

The Proposal

In order to give our best effort to ensure SenpaiSwap has the highest chance of success when it launches on Avalanche, we propose adding ve like mechanics to the protocol; essentially this pivots Senpai from incentivizing liquidity to incentivizing fee's (which in turn will incentivizes liquidity). This new mechanic is heavily inspired from Andre Cronje's upcoming project Solidly which will be launching on the Fantom network soon.

You can read in more detail about how the protocol works here and here. The problem with most protocols is that emissions and incentives are not aligned, this model ensures they are.

It is the teams belief that this subtle pivot would give Senpai the best chance at fulfilling the goal Senpai set out with. In addition, we are positioned to have first mover advantage on the Avalanche network, which could go a LONG way.

Timeline

The downside of the new model is that it would take more time to implement than deploying what we already have over on Avalanche. The bright side is that a lot of the protocol is open source which would greatly expedite things. I would not be able to give a solid date at the time this snapshot vote is posted, but I would be VERY surprised if it took more than a few weeks to launch.

I LOVE SenpaiSwap. I love our community. I am so thankful to everyone who has been apart of Senpai - I feel so blessed to have such a supportive community. It is more than I deserve.

I want to do absolutely everything in my power to give Senpai the best chance of succeeding. My greatest fear is that we launch on Avalanche and die a slow death of 1000 cuts because the market has passed us by.

Therefore I propose we vote on the following:

1. Deploy as veSenpai on Avalanche

2. Deploy as we are on Avalanche
