Nouns Stories: Short Shorts

TL;DR

A team of award-winning animators and executives in primetime animation have teamed up with Nouns Stories to commission 10 comedic Nouns shorts.

Short Shorts - Season 1

We're commissioning 10 shorts for 6 ETH each. 5 of the shorts will be commissioned through a Prop House round. We will hand pick, and noun pill, five of our favorite creators to complete the other 5 shorts.

The Rules

1. The short must be funny.
2. The short must be 15 seconds.
3. The short must feature at least one Noun.

Proposers will submit a portfolio (or at least one example of previous work) + a 1 sentence creative pitch for their short.

Distribution

Once the 10 shorts are complete we will plan for an entertaining online premiere, looking to collaborate with people in the Nouniverse, creators, and media outlets with established audiences. Then we will upload these to our own branded social media accounts and anywhere else on the internet that will showcase them. We will also provide the video files publically, allowing anyone to use them in future Nounish projects and news.

Awards

We have an additional 20 ETH to award as prizes. We'll experiment with a variety of prizes and allocation methods including token gated Nounish community votes, live celebrity critic votes, and somehow we're going to get Goldy's dog to choose one prize winner. Also included will be a prize specifically for the best CC0 shorts to incentivize creators to release their content CC0.

All of our these additional prizes will be open to public submissions - artists not selected and funded through Prop House can create their short anyways and have another shot at competing for the prizes.

Branding

10 ETH is included to cover basic branding needed for this Prop House round. This could include logos, a simple website, a Nouns Shorts video bumper to play between shorts, etc. We will return any ETH we do not use to the treasury.

The Future

Season 1 is just the beginning. Nouns Stories will produce and release content through a Perpetual Original Content Machine that culminates in a robust animation and film ecosystem plus yearly Nouns Film Festival.

Short Shorts Season 1 will give us a taste of what multi-hypenate creators can make with Nouns + inspire the next wave of storytellers to get involved for subsequent funding rounds.

Admin Costs

• 0 ETH - the team will forgo compensation in this pilot round

Funding Sources:

• 27 ETH from Nouns Stories: Additional funds were left over from Prop 20. For more information see this Post in Discord. TL;DR is Nouns Stories will deliver THE WIZARDS HAT and roll over the original funds into this new project.
• 10.69 ETH from the Noundry Committee: The Noundry Committee has generously decided to donate their reward from Prop 147 to help fund this round of shorts.
• 52.31 ETH from Nouns DAO: We are requesting the DAO match fund our existing funds to bring us to our total budget of ~90 ETH.

The proposal requests a transfer 52.31 ETH to 0x35aa2666C8Bc0AEb68ea64B463Cf57a74bDbf977
