Another successful ShroomDAO vote in the books! We are pleased to announce the results of the latest ranking vote to decide future utility and roadmap. It was amazing watching our community analyze the options and put so much thought into their votes. We love you all!

1 - shroomz and acidheadz in metaverse

After feedback from the community we realized that the two metaverse options in the ranking vote had significant overlap and so we have decided to combine them here.

We can explore both options - partnering with an existing metaverse to include shroomz as a playable character as well as purchasing land in a metaverse to develop a social gathering spot where we can host events with artists, musicians, speakers, etc.

We are fortunate that our NFTs are fully rigged 3D models and, as such, are much easier to insert into an existing metaverse. Having shroomz/acidheadz as playable characters would bring attention to the ecosystem and add fun gaming utility. The main issue with this option is that the community is not in direct control of how this plays out, as we would have to approach existing metaverse teams to have our characters accepted into their world.

Purchasing land in an existing metaverse would give us much more freedom to make it our own. We could build out a gathering space, fill it with art and music, and host events that would only be available to shroomz/acidheadz holders. Budget restraints mean we would certainly have to start small, but we are able to grow with the space.

2 - Staking

By now, you all know this team’s thoughts on staking. It is our opinion that now is simply not the time to deploy a staking system. Under different circumstances, we think this may add value, but do not believe it to be a prudent option at this time. Again, it is important to understand exactly what we will be getting into should the DAO decide to go this route.

First, a majority of the team is domiciled in countries with strict laws regarding crypto as securities. NFTs are fantastic to work with because there is very little risk of non-fungible digital collectibles being considered securities. This changes when producing more traditional tokens. If the DAO decides on a token, this team cannot be associated with its production. We will turn over funds to the DAO to cover development costs, but will not provide any further support.

Further, we believe that a staking system at this time is very likely to fail, while being a large drain on resources. Current ETH fees make staking, harvesting, and selling prohibitively expensive (likely in the $500-700 range for a full cycle). There is also the issue of having to develop an entirely new system of utility for a token in order for it to be useful. Without this, there will likely be no interest in buying the token whatsoever. Trying to cram utility into an NFT by issuing a token that then needs to have utility itself does not seem like a sound investment of resources.

3 - shroomz and acidheadz as whitelists

We still believe this to be the most economical, as well as most beneficial, option that has been presented. Much of this team has been staffed by a media company that has connections in the art, music, and crypto spaces. They routinely work with artists and other crypto teams to design websites, branding packages, and NFT releases. This connection offers Lysergic Labs the unique opportunity to ally with other teams that are creating new and exciting NFT drops. While there is no guarantee that whitelist opportunities will arise for the next 100x project, we think that this option will provide a chance to derive value from our association with high quality drops. There are currently two unique projects that will be released in the next two months that we believe would be amazing whitelist opportunities for shroomz/acidheadz holders.
