Posting this temp check on behalf of the Octant Team.
Decision: Should ShutterDAO 0x36 run a pilot with Octant v2, depositing $1.5M USDC into an ERC-4626 vault and routing 100% of generated yield to DAO-approved ecosystem funding rounds?
Discussion here: https://shutternetwork.discourse.group/t/octant-v2-pilot-to-optimize-treasury-strengthen-ecosystem/760
TL;DR
Deposit $1.5M USDC from treasury into an Octant ERC-4626 Vault that uses Morpho’s “Steakhouse” USDC strategy (Credora A+; APY variable).
Principal stays under DAO control; Octant fees: none.
Yield only is routed to DAO-approved paths (initially: community grant rounds).
SHU holders lock SHU in the Regen App to gain voting power and decide allocations.
What Passing This Temp Check Authorizes:
Parameters (initial): Deposit: $1,500,000 USDC Strategy: Morpho “Steakhouse” USDC (APY variable; external to Octant) Routing: 100% of yield to Shutter Ecosystem Rounds (USDC payouts to verified project addresses) Fee policy: No Octant platform fee
Safeguards
DAO custody, always: Only the DAO multisig can move funds.
Emergency Unwind: Multisig may redeem positions back to USDC and pause redeployments; any re-deployment or principal transfer requires an on-chain vote.
Transparency: All allocations, votes, and payouts are on-chain; recipients must submit verified payout addresses.
**Risks & Mitigations (brief): ** Smart-contract / counterparty risk: Strategy risk sits with external protocol; DAO can unwind to USDC. APY variability: Yield is market-driven; allocations scale with realized yield. Operational risk: Clear roles (DAO ops + Octant support), simple routing, and quarterly cadence to minimize overhead.
Suggested Timeline
**Vote Options ** YES — Proceed with the Octant v2 pilot as outlined. NO — Do not proceed. YES, WITH CHANGES — Proceed, but apply comments noted in the forum thread. ABSTAIN — Participate in quorum without expressing support or opposition to the proposal.
Quorum / Voting period: per ShutterDAO 0x36’s Snapshot settings.
