Council of Nine - Draciosa and "Conflict of Interest" Clause

Voting ended about 4 years agoSucceeded

Dear Sipherians,

We, the Council of Nine, have been elected by you in order to represent the community and to help advance the SIPHER project as best as we can.

A council member is required to abide by certain rules before being elected to the council. One of the rules is: Do not take up any significant role (mod, core team, etc.) in another project to avoid any issues regarding conflicts of interest.

Over the last few days, one of our Council of Nine members, Draciosa, has come forward to us and declared his involvement as a community manager in another project. He did so because he was directly asked by the founder, whom he knows closely, for help and because he sees no conflict of interest and is confident that he can handle the workload of both projects.

The Council values our member Draciosa's involvement thus far and his input into council matters. Moreover, his dedication and passion for the Sipherian community and the project is unquestionable. Regardless, we also have to consider the rules set in place, especially since we know of community members that decided not to run for Council of Nine precisely because of said clause.

With that in mind, we, the council, cannot simply dismiss this incident and will thus put up this unique situation for a community vote to decide the outcome. Please select one of the two choices below.

A) Treat the above situation as an exception: Draciosa can stay in the Council of Nine.

B) Don't treat the situation as an exception: Draciosa has to leave the Council of Nine but remains as a moderator for SIPHER.

Thank you for your input. If a community member wishes to amend the existing clause for the Council of Nine, they can propose such an amendment via the project proposal form with a proposed rule change.
