This is a proposal to decide how Skatehive.eth wallet will vote on [Gnars 32] - Proposal for Funding Gnars Tech Pod & Development
Steps
Voting Power
Objective: To secure $10,000 USDC & 25 Gnars in order to support the development and maintenance of the core infrastructure for Gnars, enhancing the overall user experience and functionality of the Gnars ecosystem.
Definitions:
Tech Pod: Members of Gnars Discord with the "@POD: Tech" role Tech Party: People who are assigned in the Tech Party app to govern funds Scope of Work:
Development, maintenance and optimisation of the main auction & DAO site gnars.wtf. Development, maintenance and optimisation of frontends that interact with the Gnars contract suite such as settle.wtf. Exploration and implementation of innovative methods to distribute the funds effectively via bounties, retro rewards and small grants using tools such as prop house or coordinape for example. Budget Allocation:
The $10,000 USDC will be used to:
Fund development bounties. Provide retroactive compensation for voluntary contributions. Support innovation and research using other fund distribution methods. The 25 Gnars will be used to:
Fund development bounties. Reward active participants in Tech Pod endeavors. Other various fun and gnarly purpose. Note: It might be hard to provide a detailed breakdown of ETH allocation for each project/task ahead of time since part of this initiative is to outline some bounties and maintenance work, potentially setup a prop house round for innovation ideas and retro fund voluntary contributions that have impact.
Management and Oversight: Upon success of this proposal, the funds will be sent to the Tech Party. Decisions regarding fund distribution will be made collectively, ensuring transparency and fairness, but will ultimately be at the discretion of the Tech Pod members of the party. We would like to start with a small enough amount that the risk is low to the DAO, but large enough to prove the model with meaningful rewards for contributors.
Timeframe: These funds are expected to cover an amount of work at least equivalent to that of hiring a developer for the same work as carried out. We estimate that it will take 1-3 months to distribute the funds from this proposal.
Expected Outcomes:
Continuous improvement in the core infrastructure of Gnars. A fully functional auction/DAO site. Seamless frontends for user interactions. Enhanced community participation through fair compensation models. Reporting and Accountability: Updates will be provided to the community from the Tech Pod, detailing the progress of each project or group of periodic tasks, funds utilised, and achieved outcomes.
Risks and Mitigation: Potential risks include delays in development, unforeseen technical challenges, however, using retro funding models and smaller incremented bounties, we should be able to mitigate any serious risk. As for the code itself, most is likely to be frontend and not contract level, and there will be trusted managers of the GitHub repositories to approve pull requests. Any contract upgrades (not foreseen) would need to be approved via proposal prior and potentially be audited to avoid any nasty surprises. But again, we don't foresee anything of this nature in this proposal's scope.
Feedback: Community members are encouraged to share feedback, suggestions, or concerns in the Gnars Discord.

If this proposal passes, a multi-sig transaction will be initiated to transfer 25 Gnars (to be chosen by the multi-sig signers at the time of the transaction creation) to the Tech Party.
