The essence of Gnars DAO lies in its community. The energy, passion, and dedication of our members have been the driving force behind our success. As we grow, it’s crucial to maintain this spirit, making sure each member feels integral and heard.
Investing in the formalization and operations of the Community Pod is investing in our collective future. This team will spearhead onboarding, community events, Gnars Jam Sessions, and weekly newsletters, enhancing our social media footprint to expand the Gnars family. This initiative promises a more dynamic and engaging experience for every Gnars member.
We propose establishing the Community Pod and it’s core infrastructure, then focusing on specific initiatives rather than broad overarching funding. This strategy sets a standard for future pods and allows for targeted funding of core community activities as detailed below, with subsequent initiatives being proposed individually, granting the community greater influence over the pod’s direction and focus areas.
Until now, the Gnars community’s efforts have yielded impressive results. The formation of the Community Pod marks a shift towards greater efficiency and targeted impact. Members can anticipate more regular and focused community engagements, as we streamline our efforts to enrich the Gnars experience.
Moving forward, our goals are clear:
Our team members, many actively involved since the inception of Gnars, have showcased their capability and dedication to Gnars over the past year and a half. Below is the team that will initially be eligible to submit for the bi-weekly retroactive funding rounds for this term of the community pod. New members will be accepted on a roll basis.
We will stick to a regular schedule of meetings, but prioritize asynchronous work. We want to have as much in writing as possible, so future members can come along and follow our thought processes and rationale for decisions we have made. A general outline of our meetings is found in the scope of work below. The final schedule will be determined in the first Pod meeting.
Processes will be documented for creating agendas, hosting meetings, creating and scheduling social media posts, etc as well as keeping records of work that has been completed. These processes will be established by the Pod and published by the end of the first month of this term.
A reoccurring issue in DAOs is the inability to receive actionable feedback prior to submitting a proposal onchain. The Community Pod will also commit to providing feedback on proposal ideas and drafts posted in the Discord prior to being submitted.
We value our community’s voice. Monthly surveys will be conducted prior to our own internal reviews to ensure we remain aligned with community interests. These regular feedback and review cycles will allow us to adjust our strategies based on performance metrics and community feedback.
A small amount of funds have been allocated for gas costs and unknown costs that may arise over the proposed 3 month term.
To ensure we continue on our mission of noggles opstacles all over the world, we will commit to seeking out 2 new locations for new installations during this 3 month term. Each installation will require it’s own proposal, or we may seek to fund these through other methods such as Prop House rounds. The Pod will determine which route we want to take at our first meeting.
As a thanks to the community members who have been generous enough to commit their time to onboarding athletes, creating educational materials, improving the Discord experience, hosting the Daily Drop and Gnars Jam Session shows, etc, I am proposing that we allocate 20 Gnars and $3,000 USDC to be distributed in a single coordinape style retroactive funding round. It’s not as much as they deserve, but we must be conscientious of the fact that we need to be more conservative with funds moving forward.
Any Gnars member who is currently a member of a pod will be eligible to submit a report with work they have completed over the course of the past year, and the Board will vote on distributing the funds accordingly. A snapshot has already been taken of existing pod members and will be used to verify member eligibility.
