Hey everyone!

As we kick off 2025 together, there's a bunch of contributions in the works.

I'm working with contributors across the organisation to bring these proposals forward to vote and set us all up for an exciting start to the year.

To get us started, as you may have seen in some of the other channels, a proposal being driven by some of our contributors is the launch of a Slingshot NFT collection.

I've gathered all the info here so we can take a vote on it.

Slingshot has the opportunity to launch its first NFT collection "Genesis", offering some unique utility with the Game Factory and to compliment the hard work being driven by marketing contributors.

This collection could offer great opportunity with the Game Factory and staple utility across the dApp and Slingshot Governance.

The launch of the collection will also be of specific interest to NFT communities and bring in new community members and collaborations from this segment of the industry.

As a commitment to levelling the playing field and furthering Slingshot's mission of access to all, this NFT should be free to mint, transparent and community focused, making sure that the community members are the primary focus.

Distribution

Distribution should ensure that it is transparent and community focused.

Native Chain: Arbitrum One Total NFTs: 2000

Breakdown of distribution:

• 10% DAO Treasury (200 NFTs)
• 2.5% Contributors & Advisors (50 NFTs)
• 10% Game Factory Players (200 NFTs)
• 77.5% Community & Collabs (1550 NFTs)

Exclusivity

Total number of NFTs: 2000 Three tiers of rarity: Legendary, Epic, Uncommon.

Breakdown per tier:

• 65% Uncommon (1300 NFTs)
• 30% Epic (600 NFTs)
• 5% Legendary (100 NFTs)

Utility

Game Factory Boosts

An exciting opportunity is to integrate this NFT launch with the ongoing Game Factory Seasons and prize pool. This would give immediate and interesting opportunity to all NFT holders, to boost their Game Factory scores and improve their rewards.

• Access to exclusive boosts in each Game Factory Season.
• Opportunity to guarantee a portion of the Game Factory prize pool.

dApp integration

As this is the first NFT collection for Slingshot, there is an opportunity for deep and meaningful integrations with the dApp and voting platform.

Such opportunities could include:

• Boosted voting power
• Boosted rewards
• In-dApp and profile swag
• Voting streak freezes
• Voting highlights / social showcase
• Spotlight ideas (outside of voting)
• Long term holder reward bonuses and more

(Some future ideas could include exclusive access to idea collaboration, ability to directly sponsor ideas in the showcase, access to the Slingshot Game Jams and access to early dApp builds).

Note: Utilities with boosts will need to be carefully considered not to undermine Slingshot's Voting Escrow governance mechanics. Such boosts must be useful but equitable and free from exploitation.

Discord & development perks

Naturally this NFT collection should also come with elevated roles and access to VIP areas of the Discord server and the platform to have a celebrated position across the organisation.

Perks could include:

• VIP access to Discord server.
• Dedicated AMAs and Feedback groups exclusive to NFT holders.
• Access to closed testing and early-alpha test groups.
• Early access to public game testing and feedback.

Risks

Risks if this proposal does not pass

• Slingshot's most ardent community members cannot further benefit from owning an NFT and participating in boosted ecosystem benefits. A loss for the community.
• Slingshot's community will not benefit from the greater exposure and growth that launching an NFT collection supports, as Slingshot would not be participating in the NFT industry.
• Failure of the Slingshot community to continue to grow at this important time.

Risks if this proposal passes

• Any boost utility with the NFTs must be carefully considered not to undermine Slingshot's Voting Escrow governance mechanics. Such boosts must be useful but equitable and free from exploitation.
