$APE Gives Back

Grant Amount: 6500 $APE

Description: We have met with a local orphanage that cares for approximately 70 children (ages 1-18) who have either been abandoned by their parents or whose parents have been killed.

The orphanage operates 100% on donations and is in need of many things. With the 6500 $APE, we plan to do the following:

• Provide mosquito nets for all the children (they currently sleep without nets, so many of the children get malaria multiple times a year).
• Provide a 3-month supply of food, including rice, beans, oil, milk powder, etc.
• Provide new kitchen equipment, such as pots, pans, plates, utensils, a burner, and a gas tank.
• Provide recreational equipment. The children currently have a few broken drums and an old soccer ball. We would provide new soccer balls, skipping ropes, story books, etc.
