Choose a Project Name & Brand Story

Purpose: To choose a project name and story that is both memorable and represents the core features of our new project concept and platform (as outlined in Vote 1). The project name should be an umbrella that can easily cover the following platform assets:

1. $SMRTR
2. $TRESR
3. NFKeys
4. Treasure Box Game
5. NFT Marketplace
6. Raffle Swap

Goal: Our goal is to create a sustainable ecosystem and defi game loop that is sustained by a thriving NFT and digital assets marketplace and raffle swap. Our project name should have room for the addition of new features and functions as our marketplace and defi ecosystem evolves.

A 5-day Discord call for proposals resulted in 26 community-submitted project names and stories. An informal vote in Discord highlighted these three names as having the highest net scores:

1. Ember's Inferno
2. tresr
3. NFTreasure

Given how close each project name was in votes, included in this vote will also be the 3 runners-up:

4. Phoenix Protocol
5. sublayer
6. Vermillion

Threaded discussions for each project name are still open in Discord under the prx-proposals channel.

This will be a "ranked-choice" vote with a 24-hour warmup, followed by 72 hours of voting.

A ranked-choice voting system (RCV) is a system where voters rank given options by preference. This is designed to give voice to as many voters as possible.

In this vote, we will rank our project names 1-6 (1 being your top preference).

1. If a project name wins a majority (51% or more) of first-preference votes, that option is declared the winner.
2. If no project name wins a majority of first-preference votes (all options less than 51%), the option with the fewest first-preference votes is eliminated.
3. First-preference votes cast for the failed option are eliminated, moving voting power from eliminated option to your second-preference choice.
4. A new tally is conducted to determine whether any option now has a majority of the adjusted votes.
5. Snapshot does this process automatically, and the process is repeated until a project name wins an outright majority.

Ranked-choice voting means that if your first preference is eliminated (for having too few votes), you can still use your voting power by giving it to your second preference, and so on (this happens automatically after you've ranked your choices).

This makes for a more equitable voting process when we have this many options to choose from.

The name & brand story that results as the winner of this vote will become our official project name and brand story as we create the ecosystem outlined at smarterdao.xyz.

The winning name/story will then be handed over to a branding, design, and copywriting agency to create marketable brand assets to accompany our new platform.
