[Ethereum] SparkLend - Add Assets to Kill Switch Oracle Mechanism - March 2, 2026

Spark's Operational Facilitator has placed a proposal into the voting system on behalf of nested contributor Phoenix Labs.

Review

The Spark community can hereby express support or opposition to the following changes, as described by the author of the proposal:

The SparkLend kill switch oracle mechanism is a safety feature that disables new borrowing of all assets on SparkLend if a covered asset’s market price falls below a specified threshold. Currently, this mechanism is active for wstETH and LBTC. We propose to activate it for other SparkLend collateral assets including weETH, rETH, cbBTC, and WBTC. This will improve the safety profile of SparkLend by automatically and rapidly preventing new borrow activity during potential rail risk events (hacks, custody failures, liquidity crises, etc).

weETH, rETH, and cbBTC will use newly deployed ratio oracles, while WBTC will use the Chainlink WBTC/BTC price feed.

Change summary:

  • Add weETH, rETH, cbBTC, WBTC to killswitch oracle
    • Deviation threshold: 0.95 (5% price deviation vs reference price)

The proposed Spark Artifact changes can be found in the following pull request: https://github.com/sky-ecosystem/next-gen-atlas/pull/192
