What? Mission Control suggests an update to the index methodology of the $SCIFI index. The current basket contains 15 assets. Mission Control proposes to reduce this number to 10, starting with the February rebalancing.
Why? The proposal is borne out of several reasons:
A reduction to 10 assets would increase the impact of the curation of constituents, as the more assets are in a basket, the more its performance tracks general market movements.
Rebalancing for 15 assets entails a lot of transactional and operational costs, which would be significantly reduced through a reduction of the assets contained in the basket.
How? Assuming a positive vote on the change of the number of constituents, Mission Control will choose which five assets to remove from the index. The new index will then consist of only 10 assets starting with the next rebalancing.
