First tasks on The List

In a previous proposal, I suggested a task list that owners can work on as a form of shared labour that can both expand the brand and motivate owners to participate through crypto rewards. As the last announcement on discord showed that there is interest in that list, I would like to propose several simple tasks that we could begin with.

The fact that we are trying to organise digital labour through platforms is already strong DAO activity. However, this topic, similarly to NFTs and crypto, is complicated for the average internet user. While we are teaching people how to join our community we should also consider teaching them the more advanced terminology, concepts and practices that one can encounter in this digital niche.

With that in mind, the first tasks are editorial projects. Each task entails writing a detailed article that covers a particular topic which is part of a recurring large topic. This idea was inspired by an Aragon (a DAO) member who wrote this blog post: https://blog.aragon.org/what-is-it-like-to-join-a-dao/ . The website of this DAO is a beautiful example of what I envision this project:

Topic 1: What is DAO?

Decentralized = Online, global, uncensorable. Autonomous = Self-governing. Organization = Coordination & collaboration around shared objectives.

Important terminology: Web3 What is Ethereum? What is a smart contract? How are DAOs/NFTs and Ethereum related? Is a DAO software? Can a DAO run on networks other than Ethereum? How should I use the word 'DAO'? Do I need to be a developer to contribute to a DAO? Can anyone join a DAO? What is a token? Do I need a token to join a DAO? How many tokens do I need to join a DAO? How can I buy a DAO token? How many DAOs are there? Can a DAO hold other currencies in addition to its native token? What can a DAO do? What is voting used for in a DAO? What are the benefits of a DAO? What are the downsides of a DAO?

Every squarmie owner who is willing to participate in the first task is welcome - the requirements are the following:

Write an article which explains all of the terminology mentioned above, while focusing on carefully explaining what a DAO is. Everyone who participates will do so with the clear knowledge that only one of the article authors will receive a reward for their effort. As this is our first task, we should aim to establish fairness in our communication, labour and rewards - for that reason, I believe that the creators should be those who will decide which author is most successful in creating the article. After the author is chosen, that should be announced and recorded in order to keep an archive of what is done. I believe the reward should also be determined by the creators, however it should be approved by the community.

The first task is writing an article about “What is a DAO”. I encourage all owners to propose more topics for articles as well as tasks related to expanding our DAO! I will list my own ideas in an attempt to bring awareness and inspire new proposals:

Write article on topic “What is DAO” Propose fair, transparent methods for distributing tasks, jobs between owners. Create an easy to understand terminology for all things related to Square Comics (example: squarfams) AND create an infographic or write an article about them. Propose and discuss digital platforms that we can use to organise ourselves. Create lists of promoters (owners can also promote the Square Comics/Squarmies collection) Create fair milestones for promoters (example: minimum followers 1000, minimum average likes - 150, minimum 4 stories that tag the brand = minimum reward of 10eur)

After we actually realise our first task(s) we should be able to evaluate the positive and negative aspects of the tasks and how they work. For that reason I suggest we discuss how to improve our systems regularly. That does not exclude this very proposal - I encourage your critical comments, ideas for improvements, follow-ups, etc.
