Hi all, Dystomouse here. Just wanted to express my sincere gratitude to the mod body of StackedToadz, they've done a great job answering questions and making sure this community runs as smoothly as possible despite all the craziness. I think it's important that our appreciation is backed up with remuneration for the mods.
Hello Everyone, this portion of the message is from the Mods.
This project has been a crazy ride from the start, the community that we have built along the way is incredible. We all originally joined this project because we loved the idea behind and wanted it to succeed. The mods have not been paid – they all signed up for loving this project and to help out the community. However, over the past 2 weeks the amount of time that the mods have been dedicating to this project, to help it succeed and to hold the line has more or less become a full-time job.
We as mods shared some of the frustrations that the community has been expressing… lack of communication, lack of structure, and other concerns. WE ARE A TEAM. Over the past few days we have expressed this to the devs. Yesterday, some of us hopped on a voice call with DYSTO to talk through these concerns. We all have to understand that DYSTO is putting in an incredible amount of work into this project every day and that he wants nothing but the best for this project. One of the major things slowing down development is him having to deal with Discord messages and answer questions. We all agree that this time could be spent more efficiently, with him doing what he does best: writing code and doing dev work. THEREFORE, we all agreed that the mods should take on a more formalized role in the project. Everyone is 100% dedicated to seeing this project succeed and continue to do what it takes to make that happen. We believe that is apparent from the work we have all put in over the past few weeks. The Mod, along with a PR team will act as a communication line between the community and the developers.
We as a community control the funds in the DAO, there is already A TON of ETH in our wallet and plenty more coming from royalties. We aren’t going broke any time soon, this project isn’t going anywhere. We believe, as mods, that we have gained the trust of the community. We thank the community again for trusting us along the way and hope the faith in us gets even stronger moving forward in our new roles that entail more responsibility and power to make changes to the project.
After long discussions between the mods and DYSTO, we want to turn to the community to ask what the community feels is a fair compensation amount for the work the mods have done from the start of the project, as well as moving forward from here. There are two separate votes; 1) for compensation for work done until now [THE AMOUNT WILL BE VOTED UPON ON ANOTHER PROPOSAL RIGHT AFTER THIS] and 2) for work moving forward.* To be clear there are multiple selections so the community can decide on what they feel is fair compensation. Talking about compensation is always a pain but for the amount of time we have dedicated and time we will be dedicating with our new responsibilities, we want to get this part out of the way. As mods and as a community if at any point we feel that a certain mod isn’t doing their part to see this project succeed we can vote on removing them from the list of mods receiving compensation.
“I DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU GUYS BUT I COULDN’T BE MORE FUCKING EXCITED FOR WHAT IS TO COME!!! LET’S GO TO THE FUCKING MOON” - LORD 69
** A few of the minor details so there is no confusion moving forward. The reason the amounts are different for some mods is because of their contributions to the project, this has all been thoroughly discussed and agreed upon by the mods. @JC36A will be getting a 0.5 kicker ON TOP OF whatever the community decides the mod base fee to be.
This first proposal is for the monthly amount that mods will be paid. The second proposal following shortly is a one time lump sum amount to be paid after voting on the second proposal following this one has concluded. Mods will be paid in ETH on the 15th and end of the month. Additionally, up until now the multi-sigs have all been paying gas out of their own pocket. This proposal also includes that multi-sigs will be reimbursed for any incurred gas fees the same time that mods are paid out.
