CP-00 - Voting mechanism

Hi everyone, I’m really glad to finally bootstrap the DAO! And it should start directly by deciding how the voting mechanism should work.

TL;DR

The goal of this community proposal (CP-00) is to start building all our community interactions from the ground up together.

I’m only a humble enabler who will ensure that actions happen in the DAO and ensure that whatever the community decides is actually done.

The following is a little bit technical but not very complicated, it contains all the details about the voting mechanism.

How does it work

• Voting rule: 1 Lenia = 1 vote
• Quorum: 8% (16 votes)
• Voting period: 5 days
• Adoption: As long as the quorum is reached, the adoption (or not) is based on the votes result at the proposal end date

Notes

• Nothing is set in stone: at any moment the community can make a new proposal to change any of the voting rules.
• We aim to start at a low number for the quorum as we don’t know how much voting engagement we will observe.
• As this is the very first proposal and it is coming out of the blue, feel free to discuss it in the discord.
