Objective:
To officially appoint the selected AWE Council members who will be responsible for managing the AWE Grants and Community Operations multisig wallets, ensuring strategic and aligned execution of treasury-approved initiatives.

Motivation (Why)

As the AWE Network prepares to scale ecosystem growth and launch its community-aligned treasury operations, a formal Council must be established to oversee fund disbursement and operational execution.

This proposal aims to confirm the initial AWE Council to manage the Grants and Community Operations multisigs established in [AFP-1].

Body (What, How, When, Who)

The AWE Council plays a critical role in operationalizing decentralized treasury flows. Members will:

Manage multisig wallets for grants and campaign operations
Approve and distribute funds below the $50,000 threshold as defined in AFP-1
Coordinate with the broader community and contributors to execute ecosystem initiatives
Serve a fixed term through the end of Q3 2025, after which a new council may be proposed

Nominations were open for 10 days, during which interested contributors were invited to self-nominate and submit a statement of intent in the AWE Governance Hub.

We propose the following five individuals be confirmed as the founding AWE Council:

Mike — Statement of Intent
Tom — Statement of Intent
Jason — Statement of Intent

If approved, these members will manage the 3-of-5 Gnosis Safe multisigs created through AFP-1 and carry out treasury operations for the duration of their term.

Next Steps

Confirm the 3-of-5 AWE Council Gnosis Safe with the above signers
Push AFP-1 on-chain to allocate 5,000,000 AWE across the Grants and Community Operations multisigs
Upon AFP-1 approval, transfer funds from the treasury to the Council-managed wallets
Announce council finalization and begin accepting grant and campaign requests
Revisit council structure and re-nomination process at the end of Q3 2025
