Objective:

Establish a Grant Program that incentivizes the development of high-quality AI agents on Base, attracting innovative builders and fostering a vibrant developer ecosystem around the STP AI Agent Network.

Deadline:

• Program Launch: December 10, 2025
• Application Deadline: February 28, 2025

Motivation (Why):

Over the last month we’ve seen AI Agents take over Crypto Twitter. These agents though early can play a pivotal role in accelerating AGI and improving the web3 user experience.

We have also seen significant agent driven innovation on Base. As a high-performance L2 Base is a fertile ground for building these agents.

By launching this Grant Program, we aim to establish and support high-quality builders exploring AI Agents on Base. We would like to see agents that provide fun, interesting, and seamless experiences.

Body (What, How, When, Who):

The AI Agent Builders Grant Program will fund and support projects building autonomous AI agents with diverse use cases.

Here are some ideas we’d like to see,

1. Trading Agents: Agents that can execute complex trades and DeFi strategies on DEXs.
2. Self-Learning Agents: Agents can learn and upgrade their code based on their experiences.
3. Agent Frameworks: Innovating and improving existing frameworks like Eliza(AI16z) or GAME(Virtuals)
4. Arbitrage Agents: Agents that can autonomously come up with and execute complex arbitrage strategies, across chains and protocols.
5. Community Incentivizing Agents: Build agents that encourage and interacts with communities on X hosting giveaways, spaces, etc
6. Multi Agents Swarms: Create agents that delegate tasks to other agents, forming swarms to complete complex goals.
7. Governance Agents: Agents that improve governance efficiency and participate in a DAO’s governance processes.
8. Generative Art Agents: Agents that generate art and other creative assets.
9. Proof of Agent: Infrastructure that allows projects to prove they are running an agent with/ without giving away the code.
10. Your ideas for Agents: If you have any exciting ideas for creative AI agents, we’d love to hear them!

Budget and Process

For the AI agent builder program we propose a budget allocation of $100,000. This will be allocated across multiple teams with teams receiving up to $25K in STPT in funding each. These grants will be milestone based. Builders can include milestones they are comfortable with during the application process.

1. Evaluation Criteria:

   • Innovation: Uniqueness and impact of the proposed agent.
   • Feasibility: Clear technical roadmap and implementation plan.
   • Ecosystem Fit: Alignment with STP’s and Base’s ecosystems.
   • Team Expertise: Proven track record or demonstrable skills.

2. Support Provided:

   • Marketing and community promotion through STP channels.
   • Networking opportunities with investors, DAOs, partners and AI infra providers.

Applications Open on the 11th of December 2024. The applications will be on a rolling basis. Announcements will be made when a project is selected. The program will be managed by the existing Grant Review Committee.

4. Start reviewing and getting back to projects on a rolling basis.
5. Monitor and evaluate progress of funded projects, providing mentorship and support as needed.
