Introduction of STP Community Grants Program

Background: This proposal is for a community-driven initiative and outlines the commencement of an informal grants program for the STP ecosystem. The grant program will support projects and games building in the STP ecosystem and on Clique, STP's Layer 3 on Base for AI Enhanced Gaming.

Objective: Launch an initial community grants program for STP to support the growth and expansion of STP's ecosystem. The grants program will utilize STPT to support these initiatives.

Context: STP has recently focused on the advancement of AI in gaming. It has launched a Layer 3 chain tailored for gaming and developer tools to empower builders to seamlessly enhance their games with AI. Clique is an Optimistic rollup Layer 3 chain on Base, secured by Celestia's data availability sampling and Airstack’s data indexing. The L3 delivers greater efficiency and unlocks significant scalability and performance for the intense load of AI enhanced onchain gaming. Clique was one of the first L3’s launched on Base.

On the user front, STP has developed a product for onchain identity and supported projects to easily launch, engage and market their games in the STP ecosystem. “AWNS” , is the first Autonomous onchain agent with a 6551-powered wallet to interact with games and AI. AWNS is one of the most minted ERC-6551 on both Base and Ethererum and is integrated with several games in STPs ecosystem like Ancient Forest, an adaptive story-based narrative game on Base and Clique and Eternal Legacy na NFT-based GenAI card strategy game on Base

To continue to align the ecosystem, rewards, and community for long-term success, the proposal suggests utilizing STPT to reward builders and community members that build in the STP ecosystem and on Clique.

STP Community Grants Program Summary Who:

The Council will start with five nominated members from the community with the option to add more later. Council members can self-nominate in the Discord followed by a community Snapshot vote. The Council will enact and conduct offchain voting processes to review grant applications with feedback and processes outlined in the Discord.

What:

Utilize STPT for the community grants program. The maximum grant will be up to $200,000 USD worth of STPT and look to cover the areas of AI and Gaming. The grant program will be divided into 4 founds per year and aims to target several projects each round.

Grants would generally be “funded” to applicants post-launch or concurrently with reaching some significant milestone. Note: A small amount of grant may be presented upfront in to cover initial launch costs. (as determined by the Council and through discussions).

Where:

The Council submission and discussion process will be done in the STP discord.

Council will find time to meet and discuss grants in a timely manner. The discussion and selection process will be transparent so that any DAO member can follow it. Grant “approvals” will be shared publicly with relevant details in the STP discord.

When:

The community grants program will begin once the Council members are established. The nomination of the Council members will occur via Snapshot vote and open to all STP community members. Once this Council is established and the processes finalized than the initial community grants program can begin.

How:

Initial grants will be funded from the STP DAO to a Council-controlled wallet. This wallet will be shared in the Discord and require proposals for initial and subsequent funding.
