Introduction

This SIP proposes a strategic initiative to integrate the Streamr Network to the IoTeX blockchain to expand the capabilities and reach of both ecosystems.

The goal is to leverage IoTeX’s infrastructure to expand Streamr’s ecosystem, particularly in terms of device identity management and DePIN network integration.

Integrating Streamr Network to the IoTeX Blockchain

Motivation

Porting Streamr contracts to IoTeX brings several advantages:

• Leveraging IoTeX’s L1 Speed and Reliability: IoTeX offers a robust Layer 1 infrastructure with a maximum throughput of 1,000 TPS, making it well-suited for high-frequency data streaming and ensuring reliable performance for real-time applications.

• Integration with One of the Largest DePIN Ecosystems: IoTeX is a leader in the DePIN space, and this integration will allow Streamr to tap into a growing network of devices and applications, further solidifying its position in the market.

• Paving the Way for Future Layer 1 Integrations: Successfully integrating with IoTeX will set a precedent for future Streamr expansions into other Layer 1 ecosystems.

Proposed Actions

• Smart Contract Deployment: Deploy Streamr’s core contracts (data streams, subscription management, revenue sharing) on IoTeX, ensuring compatibility and optimized performance.

• SDK integration: Integrate IoTeX into the Streamr SDK so that builders can choose to deploy their streams on the IoTeX blockchain.

• Testing for Compatibility and Performance: Focus testing on ensuring that the contracts interact seamlessly with IoTeX’s infrastructure.
