Context
B² or BSquared Network is a Bitcoin Layer2 Rollup blockchain built on zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) verification commitments.
Problem Addressed:
Bitcoin's utility goes beyond payments. B² Network seeks to transform Bitcoin into a versatile platform capable of supporting decentralized finance (DeFi), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and other decentralized applications.
Key Features:
- Security: Zero-knowledge proof technology, combined with Taproot’s gate commitment and challenge-response mechanism, ensures transactional privacy and security during Bitcoin confirmations.
- EVM Compatibility: EVM-compatibility ensures broad adoption and integration with existing decentralized applications.
- Data Availability Layer: B² Network provides a Data Availability (DA) Layer solution for other Bitcoin Rollups, enabling ZK-Rollup solutions to use Bitcoin as a settlement layer through the B² Hub.
- Support for BTC and ETH Addresses: Users can access the network using Bitcoin or Ethereum addresses via account abstraction.
- Performance: As expected from a Layer2 network, B² Network offers fast and cost-efficient transactions. Currently, the average block time is 2 seconds.
B² Network launched on Mainnet in April this year.
Proposal
Enable support for B² Network in the Symbiosis protocol to enhance Symbiosis DeFi offerings for L2 Bitcoin blockchains. The integration includes the following:
- Adding support for B² Network on the Symbiosis protocol, including WBTC for B² Network in the Symbiosis AMM DEX on the host chain.
- Deploying and tuning Symbiosis contracts on B² Network.
- Implementing on-chain routing via existing DEXs on B² Network.
- Activating the Symbiosis relayer network to work with the new blockchain.
Key points
- Developer Appeal: EVM compatibility and the DA layer make B² Network attractive to developers building on ZK-Rollups and Bitcoin infrastructure.
- User Benefits: dApp users benefit from support for both BTC and ETH addresses, providing a seamless experience across ecosystems.
- Seamless Integration: As an EVM-compatible chain, B² Network can be smoothly integrated into the Symbiosis protocol, ensuring immediate functionality and user benefits.
