Context

ApeChain is a Layer 3 (L3) blockchain developed to serve as the dedicated infrastructure layer for the ApeCoin (APE) ecosystem — the same token closely associated with the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and the broader Yuga Labs universe. Built using Arbitrum Orbit and secured by Arbitrum One, ApeChain inherits Ethereum-grade security while providing faster execution and lower fees via its Optimistic Rollup-based architecture.

ApeChain launched its mainnet in mid-2024 and introduces features such as native yield mechanisms, multi-hop bridging, and an expanding suite of EVM-compatible DeFi and gaming applications.

The network is designed to extend blockchain capabilities — especially in areas of interoperability, real-world utility, and user-centric experiences — while driving adoption of ApeCoin across new verticals.

ApeCoin (APE) is an ERC-20 token originally launched in 2022 to serve as the governance and utility token of the ApeCoin DAO. It powers ecosystem development, enables DAO participation, and now serves as the native gas token for ApeChain — expanding its utility beyond governance and into infrastructure.

Proposal

Enable support for ApeChain within the Symbiosis protocol. The proposed integration includes the following steps:

• Deploying a new Octopool on the Symbiosis Host Chain and adding APE token representations for ApeChain, Ethereum, and Arbitrum.
• Deploying and tuning Symbiosis contracts on ApeChain.
• Implementing APE token routing via DEX aggregators on Ethereum, and Arbitrum.
• Implementing APE token routing via the Camelot Exchange on ApeChain.
• Enabling the APE-based Octopool for cross-chain swaps with ApeChain.
• Activating the Symbiosis Relayers Network to support ApeChain operations.
• Enabling two-step swaps between ApeChain and Solana.

In the future, routing may be enabled via existing wETH- and stablecoin-based Octopools, allowing ApeChain to connect with a broader range of networks supported by Symbiosis.
