The DAO needs a way to progress towards an endgame for holders and for the DAO. This endgame should be fair, it should seek to help realize the original Community whale mission, and it should not create governance risk. The DAO currently has a significant number of tokens held by a small number of holders, and a significant number of holders with a small number of tokens. Balancing governance and impact for both groups is the goal of this proposal.
Challenges to address:
(1) Distributions would currently come with a significant gas cost on a per token basis. (2) Balance of tokens per holder
(3) The DAO should be liquid at least, and have a path to closure over a long time frame.
Overview:
This proposal would empower the signatories to create a process where by any holder who acquires 65 dao tokens can choose to exchange them for a genesis creepz. This proposal would empower the signatories to send a genesis creepz to the wallet of choice of someone who transfers 65 dao tokens to them. This proposal would mandate that the signatories burn dao tokens that are sent to them. Note that this shall not include the DAO's token 0.
Suggested process and mechanism.
Stage 0 Gen Eligibility Green only No Runes Vote for Pedro gen is not available
Stage 1 Express Interest. Beginning on Jan 10th. The DAO will launch a survey to gauge appetite for initial redemption. People planning to burn have 14 calendar days to respond to the survey.
Stage 2 execution At the completion of the survey a randomly selected gens (without runes), will be moved to a holding wallet. Note that this will require sending additional gens then sending them back. Participants will be asked to send their tokens to the DAO, then they will receive a randomly selected gen from the list. The signatories will then burn the dao tokens, preserving dao token number 0
Stage 3 repeats this repeats every month on the 10th of the month from stage 1 if there is no interest then no action is taken.
Pros: This will either do nothing OR it will incentivize large holders of dao tokens to reduce their holding relative to others in order to get a genesis creepz from the dao. This will create buying pressure for the floor which will allow smaller holders to sell and leave if they prefer. This will over time reduce the total holding of the dao, but will do so in a way that each token represents a greater pool of holdings. There are 126 gens and 8200 tokens. If 26 gens were redeemed for 1690 tokens then there would be 100 gens and 6510 tokens. Theoretically, though not likely 126 gens could be redeemed leaving 10 tokens and Portal + IP + ETH + any additional gens acquired. Ideally, though hard to guarantee. The distribution of dao tokens would be more balanced, creating conditions for healthy governance.
Cons: It may do nothing, with large holders choosing not to burn to redeem many tokens because of the premium they pay to do so. There is a manual element to the burn to redeem function, or there is a cost associated with making it fully on chain. There is a signatory time cost each month to send runes + gens then send the runes back to gnosis. There is a signatory time cost for checking and sending gens to burners.
Votes should be casted as a 'Approve' to approve or 'Disapprove' to reject this proposal. It requires a quorum of at least 25% votes and an absolute majority support of at least 75% 'Approve' votes to pass this proposal to change Creepz DAO Structure (liquidation and eventually cease to exist).
