PROPOSAL:[GOVERNANCE] [Close] DAO Token Mint; [Delete] the DAO Mint Website within 2 weeks of this passing.
The DAO Mint continues to be open at https://creepzdao.io/ and as of time of writing there are 8154 tokens minted of 10,000 supply.
Closing the mint is a strategic choice that improves governance and on balance provides benefit to the DAO holders.
There is expected to be a small charge for closing the mint and archiving the website. No more than 1 ETH should be spent on this (TBD by Admin).
Pros:
Security (Endpoints): this reduces the number of endpoints that have to be kept secure across the project and reduces the ongoing risk to holders and potential holders.
Security (Scam protection): creating certainty over the mint being closed reduces the chance of a potential holder going to a bad link to mint the DAO tokens. Accompanying the closure of the mint with clear messaging on OS, twitter and discord about the mint being closed and supply being capped supports this.
Security (Contract): in light of recent contract exploits this provides some limited protection to future exploits.
Certainty/Secondary Market: the remaining mint is at a fixed price and removing uncertainty allows DAO tokens to trade freely on the market at whatever value existing holders determine, without the influence of the mint supply.
Certainty (investment): holders know what resources we have at our disposal and future proposals can be entirely based on those resources, rather than hypothetical future income.
Governance: a sudden appreciation in value of Genesis Creepz would create a situation where it is possible for 1 or a group of individuals to quickly mint 1800 tokens and hold a significant voting position within the DAO. This would not create a governance issue due to the discord voting mechanism (100 individual holders must approve) but it reduces the community nature of votes.
Cons:
Resources: There are 1846 tokens left to mint at 0.04269, which would be 78 ETH of additional funds. Closing the mint means this avenue of funding is cut off.
Secondary sales would be the only avenue to ownership.
