This snapshot is being shown during the Townhall for the purpose of showing how snapshot voting works.
Currently this is how the scoring works:
- Tokens that count as votes are Delegated GRT, Indexer Staked GRT, and Balance GRT that is sitting in a wallet, and not used in the protocol.
- Each of these three groups are worth exactly 33.33% of the scoring. For example:
- There are 100,000 GRT in wallets. This is always the baseline, and is worth 100,000 Votes.
- There are 20,000 GRT staked by Indexers. Indexer staked GRT is also worth 100,000 votes, meaning each GRT represents 5 votes.
- There are 50,000 GRT Delegated. Delegated GRT is also worth 100,000 votes, meaning each Delegated GRT represents 2 votes
- If you hover over any of the votes, you will see them as B-GRT, I-GRT, and D-GRT. Each one of them is a different Snapshot Strategy.
Please test it out yourself when you have time!
Some other things to note:
- The Snapshot vote is non-binding, and does not determine what the Council must decide. It is just another data point to help the Council make their decisions.
- Curators are not included, and that is because there are not many Curator tokens staked today. However, the voting can easily be updated to accommodate this. It can be expected that the voting procedure will evolve over time so that it can become more accurate in representing all members of The Graph Community.
