The mission of Permutation Three: Season 1 is to create a bleeding-edge creative R&D Lab within Hashes DAO to research and develop next-generation NFT concepts, that combine personalized generative art, interactivity, gamification, play, and utility.
Season 1 has three parts, with the aim of establishing The Lab as both a center of excellence and a point of inspiration and creative research for DAO members:
An interactive generative NFT drop - Sigil - issued on the Ethereum network and free for all Hash holders.
Creating one of the world’s most comprehensive interactive NFT collections as a research tool and thought leadership project.
The Lab Bulletin and Lab Report - a regular Discord R&D newsletter, to help inspire and leverage the talents of DAO members in the research process. This will lead to a The Lab Report, a creative research paper with a portfolio of ideas of next-generation interactive NFT projects for the DAO to potentially develop.
An NFT collection is based entirely on a typographical representation of the hash, the binary, and the phrase used at mint. Rather than just using the Hash as the seed for a generative algorithm, it becomes the visual elements of the art.
Each Sigil is formatted and styled using the individual Hashes binary stats as well as dynamic on-chain data such as:
As these criteria change so the appearance of The Sigil changes.
Each Sigil is linked to the Hash that birthed it. If the Hash is sold or transferred the Sigil becomes blank until reunited with its Hash in the same wallet.
Budget
5ETH to cover project management, artists' costs, and production.
A very different concept from Permutation One, focusing exclusively on lower-cost NFTs on the Tezos blockchain from innovative artists and devs who incorporate interactivity, on-chain mechanics, functional utility and experimental formats.
Essentially a thought leadership and research piece, and a way to connect with new innovative artists. The collection signals to the wider NFT community our intent to move beyond ‘jpegs on Ethereum’ and towards developing the next generation of NFT functionality within The Hashes DAO ecosystem, bringing talent and ideas from other chains to the Ethereum Network.
The collection will be positioned as ‘The Hashes DAO: Lab’, distinguishing it from the Permutation 1 collection. We will manage the buying activity to regularly place us in the top collector's category on all Tezos platforms and maintain high visibility for The DAO.
Curation
The collection will be curated by @thedavidb and @0xbrain, both of whom have extensive experience collecting within the Tezos ecosystem. We welcome one or two other members of the DAO with the same experience to join the curation team.
Budget
We suggest reserving a budget of 10 ETH to establish an extensive collection on the Tezos blockchain
The Lab Bulletin
The Lab will publish a short bulletin every few weeks with progress reports, updates on the collection, key artists to check out, and the newest innovative, interactive NFT projects.
The bulletin will act as the opening lines of a conversation to help develop ideas within Hashes DAO, for members to be involved in guiding and contributing to the research and development of future concepts and potential artist collaborations.
The Lab Report
The feedback and creative ideas from the dialogue created through The Lab Bulletin and the subsequent discussions will be collated into The Lab Report.
The report will provide a roadmap for The DAO to decide on future Permutation 3 Season 2 collections that push the boundaries of what is possible and utilize the Hashes smart contract library to launch new projects and bring value to The DAO.
Viable concepts will be developed, written up, budgeted, and artists attached. The DAO will then vote on whether to take projects forward.
Budget
The estimated budget of 5 ETH to deliver:
3-4 months of Lab Bulletins Research Developing ideas and concepts Budgets / financials Specifications Attaching artists to projects Delivering the final Lab Report
