Discussion: Permutations as a Structure for the DAO's Activities

Voting ended over 4 years agoSucceeded

THIS IS NOT A PROPOSAL. THIS IS A PROPOSAL FOR A PROPOSAL FRAMEWORK.

In order to make HashesDAO a living, breathing, evolving creature, I propose we organize our activities into structures called "permutations" which represent:

  • A specific set of activities, unified by a theme
  • A specific ordered time span
  • A budget, overseen by the multi-sig
  • A permutation team, which oversees execution
  • If applicable, a high level project plan, and a list of future discussions or on-chain voting decisions throughout the lifecycle of the permutation (basically, where the DAO will help decide direction)

Permutations will enable us to build modular, stackable components within the HashesDAO story and evolve the complexity of our activities as the DAO becomes more adept at operating and finds it raison d'etre.

Another benefit is that DAO members can propose permutations using a template format, which will make it easier to track execution and keep projects nimble, manageable, and dynamic, instead of requiring each individual decision to be voted on by the DAO.

We can have threads or themes woven throughout the permutations and develop side narratives, but permutations will allow us to build a thematic, evolutionary narrative leveraging a unique, memorable structure that differentiates HashesDAO from other, much less interesting DAOs.

If a permutation proposal passes, the nominated team works with the multi-sig holders to execute the permutation within the bounds of the approved permutation. If the permutation requires (a) increased budget or (b) significant deviation from the proposed plan, it must be revised and submitted to the DAO for another round of discussion and voting.
