ICE Poker 101

Ice Poker is a play-to-earn game hosted in Decentraland.

At its core, users can purchase or mint a wearable that entitles them to a certain amount of chips each day. Ice Wearable Owners can use those chips at the Decentral Games properties to play ICE poker against other players. The goal of the players is to complete daily challenges to earn ICE rewards. The more chips a player earns, the more ICE earnings increase. Within this system, owners can delegate an Ice wearable to another player for a 60/40 player/owner split of the Ice earned for the day.

Ice Poker Guilds

Once an owner has 5 Ice wearables an option is enabled to form a poker Guild. DG games provide tools to manage and monitor the progress of each member in detail with the additional requirement of 1,000 DG tokens staked per wearable. This enables tournaments for the Guild as well. Wearable activation is 2,500 ice each.

The Holy Ones Poker Team

My proposal is to form a Holy Ones Poker team using this Guild System. The main objective of the team is to be brand ambassadors for the holy ones. Having a daily presence on DG properties and representing ourselves as a professional team will open a lot of doors and is a persistent form of advertising targeting our key demographic “play to earn gamers”. This will also serve as a revenue source for the DAO once the grant has been paid back.

To incentivize players to play in top form at all times and to encourage friendly competition there will be a 4,000 ICE bonus each month up for offer to top players for the next 12 months. To supply this bonus we will purchase 100,000 ice and reserve 50,000 until the price doubles and recoup the purchase cost. The remainder of the grant will be reimbursed daily, through player earnings by the team manager.

Team Manager

The responsibility of the team manager will include. Maintaining the roster of players. Organizing and coordinating the players as a cohesive team. Growing the team by providing education and support materials. Ensuring a code of ethics is maintained by the team at all times on DG properties. Organizing and paying monthly player bonuses. bi-weekly reporting to the community on the progress of the team and status of the grant repayment including audit of payments made. The team manager will calculate the total ice earned each day from the 40% of the 60/40 split. 50% of team earnings are to be paid to the DAO the other 50% to the manager for salary.

Considerations

ICE poker is in beta, has many bugs and the price fluctuates wildly. Regulation or some other unforeseen event could cause loss without the ability to recover funds.

Wallets

A custodial wallet will be created on a ledger expressly to hold the wearables and player bonus to which the team manager and the DAO have access to the private keys. The 50K reserved ice will remain with the DAO until sold. The team manager will be DOX to major shareholders and core team members.
