Background
Initially, SudoSwap faced a ban because it did not enforce creator royalties, which are essential for the Virtuous Cycle.
This cycle is crucial as it motivates further bonding and backing within the Idols community. SudoSwap pools, being smart contracts, led to a situation where stETH could be claimed but not withdrawn. As a result, stETH remained stuck in the pool indefinitely. To tackle these problems, the community made a collective decision to blacklist SudoSwap with Proposal: Add the Sudoswap router to The Idols contract blacklist.
Idols X SudoSwap V2 Destiny
SudoSwap V2 brought significant changes, including
- the ability for pool owners to withdraw ERC-20 tokens. This feature enables the withdrawal of stETH rebasing rewards.
- the enforcement of creator royalties for collections, addressing a key concern that led to its initial ban.
- the royalties can be sent to our "External Royalty Streaming Contract" and paid out to Virtue stakers.
Further, the integration of such SudoSwap pool would allow us to offer bidding and sweeping via https://theidols.eth.limo/#/marketplace
Rationale for Reconsidering SudoSwap
- The updates implemented in SudoSwap V2 directly address the original issues that led to the platform being blacklisted. By resolving these concerns, it presents a new case for reconsideration.
- The reintroduction of SudoSwap has the potential to generate revenue for the VirtueDAO through fees from trades occurring within the pool.
Proposed Pool Setup
- Deposit of 30 Idols (acquired from the funds from closing the Virtue LP) and 2.42 ETH.
- Pricing will be set at 0.125 ETH for buying Idols and 0.113 ETH for selling to the pool, based on current bid and floor prices.
