Moderator Hiring and Compensation

We've been hearing from many members of the community that team and moderator engagement has been lower than desired. The team has spoken internally and agrees that our goal to make this into a truly autonomous organization does require consistent engagement, education, and involvement of and with the community. However, there is not currently a specific arrangement with the moderators with regards to their presence and engagement. The team believes that in order for the community to have expectations of the duties of moderators, those moderators must be compensated.

We therefore propose establishment of a system of compensation for moderators and the community manager to allow them to meet the expectations that we, the community, have of them.

We propose: 0.2 ETH per week for the individual taking the role of Community Manager to continue the development of the community and build a better space for us all, in addition to moderation 0.1 ETH per week each for two moderators to oversee the chat and answer any questions anyone may have about the project.

If the current moderators deem this acceptable, we will continue with them. In current or future cases where their other obligations prevent them from continuing to moderate this project to a degree deemed acceptable by the community, an application process to find new moderator(s) will be posted publicly.

We believe this will be a valuable investment in the autonomy and organization of TheLandDAO and we hope all of you do too.
