FINAL Proposal - Empowering Sadisty and thus the R&B by allowing her to bypass KYC

Voting ended over 3 years agoSucceeded

Preproposal - Empowering Sadisty and thus the R&B by allowing her to bypass KYC and be given full perms coordinating with the role; Rules and Bans Committee Chair.

"This may sound like a crazy thought to a lot of you on the outside, but I'm sure many of you trust me enough to expand my reach in order to properly assist. I've been around since near the very beginnings of The Uplift World and have done my best to help everyone the most I could every step of the way, and plan to never change this". -Sadisty

Pros;

More in-game admin help and control. With perms to procure or take away in game items as needed between bugs and griefing.
More ease of enforcement of our rules. With Perms to destroy and/or replace rule breaking mechanisms and more(thus eventually leading to less laggy servers overall as well as assisting The Hammer to relieve a massive load of work)
Dev and Operations become relieved of holding my hand, but rather may assist when needed (thus less time needed to spend on the R&B overall). With direct access to logs and our bans.
More hands-on assistance in general in-game.
(Though everything must be documented, and in grey areas must reach out to be guided by and cooperate with The Hammer, Dev and Operations Committees)

Cons;

Allowing basically a "stranger" (because of no KYC, so technically a stranger though I really am no stranger to a lot of you) that cannot be sought for legal purposes should anything arise, accesses that may risk the project In-game and Discord wise.
Risk factor in general, examples;
A) in-game cheating for self gain
B) enabling accomplices to cheat or giving things out to players
C) Changing the discord in a malicious way to cause harm to others and/or the project itself

The list of risks goes on, and as the current head of the Rules and Bans, it is my job to make sure you are aware of what this proposal can end up as in a worse case scenario.

"In my defense, I have already had such discord perms to crush us in a day, and had them for 6+ weeks, probably a few months. I also had many opportunities to cheat, using /give and a few things as worlds were developed, like degen and etheria, the colosseum before the inventory bridge was closed and had full admin perms. I do not cheat and am here for the best of us. Cheating is something that makes me lose interest, cause now "I'm god". It's boring. I also dislike cheaters in environments where players have unfair advantages, since a kid this has been the way."

All of the perms in which Sadisty will receive revolve around the Mandate given when the committee was first established found here; https://snapshot.org/#/theuplift.eth/proposal/0x6f70678d6887ae2ce2434db628d8b779a53fe69d6c350465111dfe5027755de0 as well as a small push for a bit extra to be enabled to assist The Hammer and Players more directly and thus, more effectively. As a small defence mechanism in place, these perms will only be applied to Sadisty’s Observer. This account is not a player account, it is considered staff and like such, will be easier to track as it will only be doing actions that revolve around catering to In-game issues. It does not build, it does not kill mobs (maybe players midst offending? lol), it does not act as a player in any way.

"Committee name: Rules and Bans Mandate: Make new in-game rules, work with devs or operations committees for game-based enforcement where possible. Manage discord support system. Approve restoration of in-game items or their removal. Add, remove, and work with observers. Look for violations, ban or shadowban players, listen to unban appeals, develop documents with new or updated information for marketing to make pretty and publish. Members can access moderation tools."

For a basic but not too revealing of reasoning as to “Why” Sadisty can’t KYC;

“I only have basic documents (like a ton of them, bank statements, income, T5s etc) and maybe some social media to prove who I am. It’s been an ongoing problem for a while in my life, since I moved from Quebec to Ottawa. There is basic info I can provide, maybe even a video to prove I’m me. Our KYC handler (smiley/Justin) can be provided with recent mail with current address and any private documents to have some information on me. It’s really not that I’m avoiding anything.

There is more info on a personal side as to why I do not have sufficient Identification to prove myself, and can provide more of an explanation as to why if I really must but know ahead of time the topic will be personal and uncomfortable, for me and you…”

The voting strategy for this proposal is weighted-choice vote. The pre-proposal linked here met quorum; https://snapshot.org/#/theuplift.eth/proposal/0x852f4758d7bf48a8d7bf5a0871e38408fb5c9a5beca7befed085d347d3c9cf2c
