MOONEY to the Moon

Abstract

This proposal would send 20,000,000 MOONEY tokens (~$6,000) to the lunar bounty wallet on the Pyramid on the Moon, a digital monument that will be landing on the Moon with members of the Meme World Order. This action will increase the presence of MoonDAO and the MOONEY token in the onchain and space communities while participating in the innovative "Memes to the Moon" mission with participating communities like Mr. Miggles, ElonRWA, Own the Doge, DOMS, Pudgy Penguins, and Mumu the Bull. The lunar landing is currently scheduled for March 2nd, which coincides with ETHDenver, and this proposal also includes $2,000 USDC for sponsorship of a display at the main entrance to ETHDenver with MoonDAO artwork, as well as supplementary marketing materials.

Problem

MoonDAO wants to enhance the visibility and usage of MOONEY tokens in meaningful, impactful ways. A significant challenge is how to build long-term interest and engagement with the community while integrating MOONEY into broader space-related initiatives.

Solution

The proposed solution is to send 20,000,000 MOONEY tokens to the lunar bounty wallet inside the LifeShip Pyramid on the Moon, which will be landing on the surface of the Moon. Pablo already sent 1,000,000 MOONEY to the capsule as an advance from his personal account, so in reality, we would send one million to reimburse Pablo and 19,000,000 to the capsule.

This will tie the MOONEY token to a real-world space mission, increasing its value and credibility within the space exploration and crypto communities. The funds will sit in a secure 4-of-4 multisig wallet with the potential for future retrieval by a lunar mission, thus linking the project to an exciting space milestone.

The process will involve sending the tokens from MoonDAO’s treasury to the designated multisig wallet address, controlled by a 4-of-4 wallet, one of which is the private key that will land on the surface of the Moon, and the other three controlled by community multi-sigs.

Other communities within the Meme World Order will be sending tokens and NFTs to this lunar wallet, with the potential for the total lunar bounty to continue to grow over the years where retrieval may be possible.

Benefits

• Increased Visibility: Associating the MOONEY token with a lunar mission and engaging meme communities to generate excitement and media attention, positioning MoonDAO as a leader at the space/blockchain intersection.
• Community Engagement: Sending tokens to the moon creates a tangible, lasting connection with MoonDAO's mission and community, offering a unique, futuristic aspect that will resonate with members and may attract new participants.
• Revenue Generation: This lunar initiative has already resulted in direct revenue to the MoonDAO treasury in the form of USDC to participate in this challenge. Beyond that, communities can then opt to include other tokens or NFTs as part of the bounty.

Risks

• Technical Risk: If there are issues with a member of one of the community’s multi-sig, the lunar bounty tokens could be forever lost.
• Community Reaction: Some members may question the value of sending tokens to the Moon. Worst case scenario, this may act as burning the tokens which has been generally supported by segments of the community.

Objectives

Objective #1: Send 20,000,000 MOONEY tokens to the lunar bounty wallet in the LifeShip Pyramid.

• Complete the token transfer process to the Moon within the next two weeks.

Objective #2: Coordinate around the ETHDenver landing event and art display at the main entrance.

Key Results for Objective #2:

• Deliver artwork (still or video) plus any logos and supplementary marketing materials to the ETHDenver art wall team.
