This vote is about whether the Toshi contract should be renounced, which would permanently remove the possibility of reintroducing taxes or activating any other functions the contract has.
The other option is to keep the contract as is, if you believe that reintroducing taxes in the future is a potential necessity.
Option 1: Renounce the Contract
If the contract is renounced, it means Toshi is committing to never reintroduce taxes. This would make our contract a “vanilla contract,” one with zero risk factors from the developer side. We would lock in the current setup, ensuring stability and predictability for everyone involved. The project would continue to grow with the resources already accumulated, focusing on what Toshi has now to continue to grow the brand.
IMPORTANT: We believe that most of the unwarranted “warnings” on automated contract checkers will disappear with the renouncing of the contract.
Option 2: Do Not Renounce the Contract
If you choose not to renounce the contract, it gives Toshi the flexibility to reintroduce taxes if needed for future growth. As there has already been a Meow DAO vote for the removal of taxes, we don’t expect that Toshi would ever really benefit from the reintroduction of taxes.
What Happens Next?
As the voting ends, we will either renounce the contract immediately in its current state, which makes it a vanilla contract with no functions and zero tax, or we leave everything as is, without touching any of the functions on the contract without the approval of a Meow DAO vote.
Your meow's matter.
