TSC Contract Migration Vote

Voting ended almost 3 years agoSucceeded

As you all may know, there is a marketplace war going on between OpenSea and Blur. They have reduced royalties to 0-0.05% if it is not being enforced in the contract level. Our Toxic Skulls Club contract unfortunately is not upgradeable so we have no option other than going through a contract migration. We have spoken with multiple project founders on the most efficient solution. There is really only two ways to approach this, have the holder go in and burn the old NFT, and then claim the new NFT under the new contract. You would need to pay gas to burn and claim in this scenario ($5-$10 per NFT) and both collections would still be available in both Opensea/Blur causing confusion. Or we airdrop everyone a new NFT at no charge to the holder and change the metadata/art of the old NFT so no one will trade it anymore. The second scenario is a better solution as we spoke with Opensea/Blur to delist the old collection and instead show the new collection as well moving the statistics/volume from the old contract to the new contract.

Not only will this migration help with enforcing royalties and adding features to the contract such as staking (for future use) but this will make the contract upgradeable which will enable us to continue building in the web3 space and create an even better experience for our community as the web3 space changes.

With these changes Toxic Skulls Club would continue to be tradeable in OpenSea and Blur, the only difference is that now it would enforce royalties.

TSC is always looking for ways to generate revenue from sources outside the web3 space and we will be able to with the skateboards, rum etc... But being able to generate revenue from the web3 side gives us the ability to continue to push TSC and is not a good business move to completely disregard the web3 royalties venue source. Especially now with Bob being on board driving more exposure to the TSC project & brand.

The gas cost to airdrop the 9,999 NFTs will be 9eth. Unfortunately, this is something that no one could anticipate where project creators would be affected by the marketplace battles so we are asking to split the cost between the founders wallet and the community wallet. This will benefit the community as royalties would continue to flow into the community wallet from TSC royalties, as well as give us the ability to make changes to the contract as TSC grows into giving value to the OG collection for our holders.

In summary, in order for the airdrop to happen at no cost to the holders, we will need 9ETH in gas for the migration.

The vote is to approve to split the cost between the community wallet (4.5eth) and the founders wallet (4.5 eth).

VOTING OPTIONS: -Yes, I approve to use of 4.5eth from the community wallet for the contract migration.

-No, I do not want to use funds from community wallet, pause on contract migration thus stopping royalties to the community wallet as well.
