This proposal seeks to formally establish the Treehouse DAO and its governance framework, with TREE serving as the primary medium for governance rights. It defines guiding values, key governing bodies, communication channels, and governance procedures.

Motivation

Following the successful launch of the TREE token, the Gaia Foundation proposes to lay the foundation for Treehouse DAO’s initial operations. Establishing the DAO ensures that protocol development, ecosystem growth, and treasury management are guided by community participation and transparent governance, rather than unilateral decision-making.

Specification

If approved, this proposal will:

• Formally establish the Treehouse DAO as the decentralized governance body of the protocol
• Define the guiding values and governance framework for the DAO
• Designate the DAO’s official communication channels:

• Adopt the Treehouse DAO Code of Conduct, including principles of respect, integrity, and transparency
• Assign Gaia Foundation to manage governance processes (Governance forum, TIP lifecycles, Snapshot voting, communications)
• Assign Treehouse Labs to provide technical, financial, and administrative support for execution of proposals
• Formalize the TIP governance process:

  Discussion on forum → Escalation by DAO admin → Snapshot vote → Execution by Treehouse Labs

Against: Do not establish Treehouse DAO at this stage

Vote Outcomes
