The Trips Safe has so far not been actively managed. As a result, we did not sell tokens when prices were high, in order to buy when they were low. By doing so, we missed tens of thousands of dollars in opportunities.

This is a pity, especially because we do have the necessary expertise in house to do so.

In this proposal, we aim to rectify this preparing to ride the next bull market, earning yields on what we have and strengthen our position in the travel industry via token swaps and investments.

THE TEAM

We had some discussions and votes on this, but we failed to attract interest in the wider community in actively managing the treasury. So we decided to assign the task to three long-standing members: Apavoncello#0116, FrancescoMT#2239 and FedericoTrips#2909 (Discord handles)

THE BUDGET

The objective of this proposal is to decide the budget to be allocated to the elected team. The budget will be defined as a percentage of the actual MAIN SAFE value based on the community vote decision.

THE MAIN TREASURY

The value of the Main Treasury now, excluding Trips tokens, is a mere $30,000, but it’s composed of long term assets, some of them are in staking and LP pools, so fees and tokens are growing. Such a Safe in a bull market may be worth $300,000, this is why active management is worth it now. We are not trying to manage $30,000, but pointing at having up to half a million dollars. This is a no-string attached treasury, no investor money is here, which makes it important.

VALIDITY

The assignment of the Active Treasury management will be in place until the end of March 2024. After that, new members will be elected by community or the team in place will be confirmed again via a vote.

TASKS OF THE ACTIVE TREASURY MANAGEMENT TEAM

The team will use these funds for the following purposes:

LIQUIDITY PROVIDER / STAKING

Increase the value and returns from our funds

TRADE

Sell and buy the tokens in the Active Treasury to diversify our holdings and increase the safety and diversification of our fund.

INVESTMENTS IN WEB3 IN TRAVEL

Invest in other tokens in the Web3 in Travel ecosystem, that could be useful for our activity and a valuable relationship to establish.

NFTS

Invest in NFTs mints of purchases.

ACTIVE TREASURY MANAGEMENT TEAM DECISION-MAKING PROCESS

The elected team will decide how to allocate the Active Treasury in order to make it more profitable and efficient. All type of operations will be shared to the community after its completion. Community members can suggest any type of treasury management, anyhow the team in place will decide if to accept or not. The decisions happen on a 3 people vote basis.

GUARANTEES ROLES

Luca De Giglio (LucaTripsCommunity#1781) and HotSalsa#7395 (Discord handles) will be owners of the ACTIVE TREASURY MANAGEMENT Safe and will respect the Team decisions by signing transactions as requested. In extreme cases they will though refuse to do so, in the same way a President sometimes refuses to sign a new law when it seems not in compliance with the founding documents. For example, the Active Treasury Management Team: starts a transaction to swap all the money for a new highly speculative dog coin starts a transaction to send all the money to a DEAD address starts a transaction to send all the money to am unknown address and failing to explain it to the Community.

The Safe will be a 4 out or 5 Safe, meaning at least 4 signatures are necessary to perform a transaction.

TRIPS <> TOKEN SWAP

The team will seek to swap Trips tokens for other Travel related tokens in order to establish new valuable relationships with other travel communities and DAOs. This will give us exposure to the Web3 travel industry and allow us to bet on the general growth of the sector, diversify the safe funds, increase the overall value of the project, and attract new talents. Trips tokens will thus partly and indirectly (it’s not an index!) become “web3 travel industry tokens”, giving them value based on the general ecosystem's value.

Every token swap will need to go via a Snapshot vote.

Please choose the amount of the Treasury which will be allocated to the Active Treasury management. 10%, 30% or 60% will also approve the Trips Token Swaps.
