New TRIPS Token: which chain(s)? (2)

Voting ended over 2 years agoSucceeded

Note: this vote replaces the previous one which had technical problems, as many people could not vote.

On which blockchain(s) should we launch the new token? This is a hard question as it has several implications.

The existing token was launched on Ethereum Mainnet, then bridged to Gnosis (previously called xDAI) and to Polygon.

The EVM chains in the list are in order of:

  • previously used (ETH/Gnosis/Polygon)
  • liquidity as per DefiLama today with some exceptions we did not consider, as probably there is consensus not to use them
  • others we added even if small (e.g. Camino which is a travel only chain).

Feel free to vote "add chains" if you think the important ones are not in the list.

LAYER 0 There is a possibility to deploy the token on a new protocol called Layer 0 which would make the token instantly bridgeable to several chains. There is a discussion on Discord about this in the channel liquidity-providers. Unfortunately Snapshot does not allow linking the invite so go here at the bottom of the page to get it and read the technical discussion.

MAIN CHAIN AND BRIDGES The first result will be the main chain, the others may be bridged to in time according to bridge availability, quality and need.

THE VOTE You can vote as many as you want and they will have the same weight.

Note: this is not a vote about liquidity even it is in some way connected (some chains are more liquid than others).
