Avalanche is an open source decentralized blockchain platform. This proposal seeks to integrate Avalanche’s native AVAX tokens with Trust Wallet, enabling users to store, send, and receive AVAX and interact with Avalanche’s growing DeFi ecosystem.
Avalanche is an open-source decentralized blockchain platform that can launch financial primitives, decentralized applications and new interoperable blockchains. Avalanche solves the issue of scalability, speed and composability with blockchain. Avalanche accomplishes this with two key differences: Avalanche consensus and a flexible architecture. Avalanche consensus is a third-generation consensus protocol that comes after Classical consensus and Nakamoto consensus. Avalanche consensus combines the best qualities of Classical and Nakamoto consensus, where it is robust, quick, and scalable. The flexible architecture of Avalanche enables the creation of subnetworks that can be permissioned or permissionless and use a custom virtual machine. Currently, Avalanche supports the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), which enables any developer familiar with solidity to deploy EVM compatible applications and products.
The mission of Avalanche is to provide a blockchain infrastructure that is scalable and flexible to accommodate any financial product, blockchain application, and service to deliver the internet of finance.
AVAX is the native Avalanche token, which is used to maintain the security of the network with validator staking rewards and transaction fees. Transaction fees can be used for peer-to-peer transactions, contract creation, and subnetwork deployments.
360,000,000 AVAX tokens were issued on mainnet, September 21st, 2020. The issued tokens are under a lock-up schedule, which can be found here.
AVAX has a fixed capped supply of 720,000,000 AVAX with a deflationary model, where AVAX transaction fees are burned. Currently, there is over 63,000 AVAX fees burned.
Avalanche went live on mainnet on September 21, 2020 and the ecosystem has rapidly grown in three categories: validators, ecosystem partners & applications, and community growth.
There are currently over 900 full block-producing validators participating in consensus on Avalanche, which makes it one of the most global decentralized participating networks, after Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Avalanche has seen a rapid rate of adoption with ecosystem partners, integrations and Dapp deployments. There are 160+ ecosystem partners and applications on Avalanche with dozens more in integration and forthcoming: https://www.avax-projects.com/.
More developers, participants, and users are joining Avalanche community channels to discuss new projects, technical topics, and more. Since mainnet (September 21, 2020), there has been tremendous growth on channels ranging from Twitter, Discord, to Telegram:
Avalanche has a rapidly growing ecosystem and the demand for an integration with Trust Wallet has increased, from wallet users to developers. Also, by integrating Avalanche, the Trust Wallet ecosystem will have the opportunity to attract new users and expand the community.
