Should rewards continue to be paused for another month for marketing efforts?

Voting ended over 4 years agoSucceeded

For the past month, rewards have been paused in favor of an experimental change to redirect fee distributions towards marketing campaigns. Over the past month, we have been able to explore more opportunities like sponsored youtube content, paid promotion, and more upcoming campaigns to help spread the word.

We believe the opportunities that are now in reach are beneficial however, don't want to undermine the social contract between holders and the project. Thus, we are putting it to a vote if this should be continued or not.

We want to lay out some pro's and con's just to make sure people get a general idea of how the landscape looks.

Pause pro's:

  • Increased social outreach with ads
  • Promotional content on youtube/twitch
  • Sponsered content on neighboring websites
  • Positive campaigns lead to increased volume for more rewards
  • Higher potential for more UNIDX holders
  • Larger trading competition & co-market opportunities

Pause Con's:

  • Token utility is temporarily reduced
  • Unsuccessful marketing campaigns may lead to a rollover month
  • Large token holders may feel optimistic for the month (speculation)

Current Stats: We're pretty close to averaging near $1,000,000 daily volume across all chains and products with current numbers this week being ~$250,000 and our peak being ~$440,000. Once we reach around $1,000,000 we feel like we can approach larger campaigns with great confidence and could be a point to permanently distribute fees. We think pausing rewards to holders in favor of marketing efforts can help reach that goal.

Choices:

  1. Pause rewards for another month for marketing efforts
  2. Distribute fees as normal to token holders
