Arbitrum Deployment and UNW Bridging to Arbitrum

Short Name

UIP-4

Long Name

Arbitrum Deployment and UNW Bridging to Arbitrum

Area of Impact

Uniwhale

Proposal Description

UIP-4 asks our community if Uniwhale should deploy on Arbitrum.

If UIP-4 passes,

Uniwhale contracts will be deployed on Arbitrum One, 10m UNW will be bridged over to Arbitrum (via Wormhole) to be locked at a new contract called “BridgedVault”, to support our tokenomics there. See UNW Bridging to Arbitrum below for more details

UNW Bridging to Arbitrum

The bridging of UNW is required to ensure that UNW circulated across BNB and Arbitrum are fungible and that the max supply is capped at 100m. By bridging 10m UNW over to Arbitrum, the max supply of UNW/esUNW on Arbitrum is capped at 10m (i.e. 25% of the total emission).

The Uniwhale team worked closely with Wormhole team for the product design.

The core functionality of BridgedVault is to support the conversion between esUNW and UNW.

On Arbitrum,

  • esUNW will be minted natively.
  • UNW will not be minted natively but instead capped to the number of UNW bridged over from BNB.

The BridgeVault is audited by MetaTrust.
