The Move - Event Raffle with UP Token

Background

Next week, on the 31st, we are hosting a big online event we call "The Move." This event marks the completion of our migration as the DAO from Ethereum to Base blockchain. We are currently inviting fellow communities to join us on this livestream to share their experience with moving DAOs across chain. To make this event a touch more spicy than it already is, I thought it would be a good idea to raffle out some UP tokens.

Benefits

The livestream is dedicated to the DAO migration because we understood that many people, even within the community, have not yet caught up with the change. The stream is a way to reach more people from the OG community and put them in the know to exchange their UDT for UP, but at the same time, it generates opportunities for us to reach new people.

A free token can encourage people to join calls and inform themselves about what we are doing and specifically what THEY can use the protocol for. As we now offer a product with "Unlock Prime," it might also incentivize them to buy a membership.

Risks

Token dumping would be the highest risk in that scenario, but first of all, the number of tokens is not insanely high, and since UP is not worth much yet, the probability of people holding for now is much higher.

Timeline and Implementation

1 - Get Snapshot approval from the DAO for the overall idea. 2- Raffle out the tokens after both spaces are over. The estimate is for the 8th of November (to give more people room to share our content). 3- Public announcement on Unlock socials tagging the winners and asking them to comment with their wallet addresses on the post. 4- Launch the onchain proposal via Tally and send the UP tokens to the winners.

The total timeline would amount to approximately 2 1/2 weeks.

The suggested raffle prices would be as follows:

• 1st price: 50k UP
• 2nd price: 25k Up
• 3rd price: 15k UP

As we are considering doing two livestreams, one in English on the 31st of October and a Spanish-speaking one on the 7th of November, the total of tokens requested from the DAO treasury would be 180k UP.
