Background

It’s been great collaborating with the Unlock ecosystem over the past few months in a variety of ways! At Hats Protocol, we continue to progressively decentralize governance of the protocol with intentions to launch Hats DAO in late 2025, and we see Unlock as a key part of the growing Hats ecosystem and a future DAO member.

We’re organizing an event during ETHDenver on February 27, 6-10 pm, hosted at Blind Tiger to celebrate the next chapter of Hats DAO and bring together members of the Hats ecosystem. We would love to invite Unlock to be a part of the event as a cosponsor, along with Decent, Lemma, and Tally who have already agreed to cosponsor the event as well.

The draft event link is here (not yet public), we will be using Unlock for ticketing and will promote the event with Unlock as we share it through our networks.

Benefits

Cosponsors will receive:

• Name added to event title/description
• Logo added to event page/ other event materials
• Opportunity to address attendees (Hi, we're Unlock, we do X, say hi!) ~30s
• Lay out some of our merch at the event
• Review RSVP list for approvals
• Be part of the thank you for attending note, with info about how to learn more about Unlock and the Hats + Unlock integration

Risks

Risks are that the event is underattended. However, I feel confident that we’ll have a great crowd. We are also minimizing risks by hosting this event at the same space we hosted an event at last year, Blind Tiger, which served us well and was a great spot with good drinks.

Timeline and Implementation

• The event is on Feb 27, 6-10 pm
• Setup can start at 5:30 pm on the same day
• We’ll start promoting the event early in the week of Feb 10

Resources

We’re asking cosponsors to each chip in $1k USDC, and we’ll cover the rest of the costs (estimated at $6.5k total), which includes an open bar (they primarily serve hard kombuchas and other tasty drinks), food (pizza and appetizers), DJ, and event space. We’ll also handle all the event coordination.

The ask is $1k in USDC from Unlock Protocol DAO.
