Background

The Carrot Castle team would like to formally propose to Unlock DAO a further collaboration for the 2025 EthDenver event, after already working together on the ticketing.

We have put together this event with the express goal of fostering a deeper look into the complexities of grant funding in the current landscape of technological innovation. We are bringing together the top thinkers and builders that share this focus to show 'n tell the most cutting edge developments from around the ecosystem.

We want Unlock to be front and center on this journey!

A full review of the deck will answer many of the general questions about the event.

Specifically, what we are asking for approval from Unlock DAO is for Tier 1 Sponsorship of 2 $ETH. The goal for our Tier 1 Sponsors is that they are the showcase of the event. Unlock is perfect for this, as we are already using the protocol for our tickets! On top of that, our use case helped to push the protocol to new limits that had not been previously tested! This is exactly the kind of innovation through collaboration we are looking to emphasize with this event.

The Unlock community has been paving the way forward for DAOs everywhere. Unlock Protocol is ready to embark on the next stage of its journey now, and we believe the Carrot Castle is the perfect stage to showcase that through your own Grant Round; crafted and executed by industry experts. This will serve as a starting point for your community to kickstart new innovative thinking that continues on, past this event. We will sow seeds for your current Grant Program with a hyper-focused week long deep dive into the process. Consider this a DAO Level-Up on the Grant Ecosystem!

We will custom-tailor this grant round to focus on achieving the outcomes the DAO prioritizes most.

Along with this custom grant round, Unlock will get:

• Dedicated Office Hours for representatives to post up to field 1:1 engagement w/ users in a chill environment
• A publicized Workshop where you can do hands-on user onboarding with projects & individuals actively ready to onboard; low pressure, high conversion
• SWAG distribution throughout the entire week
• Logos on all the promotional content

Exposure for Unlock doesn't stop at the Castle, either! The Castle is the home-base from which quests will send attendees out to the rest of the event, and even out into Denver itself! Participants will be pursuing tasks that take them and all the friends of the Castle out into the world to fully engage in the human experience and make lasting connections with people who can benefit from what this ecosystem has to offer.

Unlock DAO, being a Tier1 Sponsor, gets to be a part of this gateway experience, much like Unlock Protocol is the gateway to the Castle!

Risks

Risks for the DAO are:

• This is the first Carrot Castle. The goal is to be a small, highly targeted event, but overall exposure for Unlock on a mass scale will depend on the success of the event becoming memetic through our adventurous grant round activities.
• Participation from Unlock representatives will drive a large amount of the value gained from the office hours and workshop activities. If nobody can be there, these opportunities will have limited value.
• Denver is cold in the winter. Wear boots and gloves!

Timeline and Implementation

The event starts February 23rd and runs until March 2nd, 2025

Resources

• 2ETH for Tier 1 Sponsorship (of these 2ETH, 1.5ETH will be issued as Grant Rewards and 0.5ETH for the administration of the event and grant round)
• Representatives of Unlock and their available schedule for hosting a workshop and office hours
• The Castle is meant to be an open and accessible venue for ad-hoc connections throughout the week as well
• SWAG to give out throughout the week

Voting Evaluation

• For = A "For" vote signals approval for sponsoring the Carrot Castle with 2ETH to earn Tier 1 Sponsor Status, as defined in the proposal above
• Against - An "Against" vote signals disapproval for sponsoring the Carrot Castle with 2ETH
• Abstain - An "Abstain" vote signals support for whatever the DAO decides by adding your vote to the quorum without indicating a preference
