Liason Engineer For Unlock DAO

Voting ended over 1 year agoSucceeded

Introduction:

Unlock protocol DAO is evolving and growing at an unprecedented pace, several activities and initiatives emerge that require technical expertise for execution. Since the Unlock Protocol Labs consists of a small team who have their hands full with shipping features and updates for the protocol on an almost weekly basis, they have limited bandwidth to focus on other technical needs of the DAO. This necessitates the role of the liaison engineer.

Role Description:

The role of the Liason Engineer focuses on driving innovation and working on technical development for DAO-related projects and in close collaboration with the Unlock Labs team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Research & Development:
    • Conduct technical research on new initiatives, tools, and applications that could benefit the DAO.
    • Develop proofs of concept (PoCs) and prototypes for proposed solutions.
    • Evaluate the feasibility and potential impact of technical proposals from the community and the DAO.
  2. Coordination & Collaboration:
    • Act as a technical bridge between the DAO and the Labs team, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
    • Coordinate with the Labs team to understand their capabilities, timelines, and potential support for DAO-initiated projects.
    • Facilitate knowledge transfer between the DAO and Labs team, ensuring both parties are aligned on technical matters.
  3. Community Engagement & Support:
    • Engage with the community to gather requirements and feedback for approved initiatives where necessary.
  4. Implementation & Maintenance:
    • Lead the implementation of specific technical initiatives as approved by the DAO.
    • Perform ongoing maintenance and upgrades of DAO-initiated technical projects.

Why Me?:

I’ve been a consistently active contributor to the Unlock Protocol since 2022 when I joined the DAO. During that time I have built different prototypes implementing the protocol, taken on several bounties, and submitted multiple PRs (pull requests) to demonstrate my understanding of the Protocol and technical competence. My commitment and dedication to the long-term success of Unlock Protocol evident from my track record and contributions make me a suitable candidate for this role.

Measuring Impact:

To assess my performance and impact in this role, key performance indicators (KPIs) can be established, including:

  1. Project Delivery:
    • Number of technical projects successfully delivered on time and within scope.
  2. Collaboration Effectiveness:
    • Feedback from both the DAO and Labs team on the effectiveness of communication and collaboration.
  3. Impact:
    • Measurable improvements in DAO operations or processes resulting from implemented technical solutions.
  4. Issue Resolution:
    • Response time and effectiveness in addressing technical support requests from the DAO.

Compensation:

In recognition of the time and effort required to fulfill this role effectively, I propose a compensation of 200 UDT per month for 6 months after which the terms and performance may be reviewed and (or) renewed. Since the purpose of UDT is intended for governance rights and not necessarily as payment I would require an additional liquid form of compensation for the role and propose an additional $1000 USDC (or token equivalent) per DAO-initiative implemented. This compensation aligns with the value provided and ensures fair remuneration for the responsibilities undertaken. I will receive both (when applicable) at the end of the month to this wallet: 0xCA7632327567796e51920F6b16373e92c7823854
